Did some looking online but could not verify, thought I would ask Dakka.

I saw an ebay seller selling what he called the limited edition figures from Assault on Black Reach, and they are single sprue snap togethers, but I didn't think that set had limited edition figures.

can anyone confirm or deny this? links to pictures?

If I remember, the plastic Deffkoptas were "limited edition" for a while. Right now you can only get 1 Metal Deffkopta for $33

AoBR had nothing special except the koptas which are expensive individually. But personally with footsloggers I don't use koptas anyway.

Marines
10 man tac squad (sergeant, Missile launcher, flamer)
5 termies w/ sergeant
1 Captain
and a dreadnought

Orks
1 Warboss w/ twin shoota and powerklaw
5 nobz
20 boyz
3 koptas w/ rokkits

I used the SM to practice on, and the spare Ork sprues to convert sluggas from fantasy Orcs. and in AoBR the SM had a 100pt advantage. plus it came with no missions like Macragge did.

WAAAGH!!!

There were no special limited edition figures like the Chaplain in Dark Vengeance. He probably calls them limited edition because they're no longer in production.

Pretty much all you had that were different and couldn't buy elsewhere were a space marine captain, ork warboss, 5 nobs, and the deffkoptas. The terminators, dreadnought and boys are normal, the tactical marines are snap together and look real bad so dont even bother with them. The nobs are nothing special. The captain and warboss are okay. Like SRM said they're more just out of production than special edition

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

Everything's snap together. I didn't think the Marines or Orks were bad, just not as good as the full-price multipart plastics by any stretch. I do wish they rereleased the Warboss though; that was easily the best model in the box.

Yeah I pretty much solely got it for boss, deffkoptas, dreadnought and terminators. I just have a particular dislike for how the arms on the marines are a single cast to the torso so there's no separation between them.

Yah, that Warboss is an awesome miniature. I use it as my Warboss in my fledgling Ork force. The Deffkoptas were pretty cool too. And cheap as chips on eBay

Starters are always all plastic. Making Plastic single miniature sprues is a relatively recent achievement for GW, so Dark Vengence starter was the first to have a limited edition plastic miniature in it (Hobbit is the second, but the box is still available due to low demand).

Yea, that Warboss is by far, my fave 40k Mini. I own 4 of them. Its awesome for making a bikerboss, or a MegaBoss or a normal boss. Boom, all 3 types from the same mini. Infact Im making my Special Character Boss from that mini. Starting work on that today I think.

But no, nothing special edition in that set, I should know, Ive bought a couple of em. You can still get everything from those sets on ebay for fairly cheap.

Hmmm interesting. from the auction picture it looks like a terminator and a Nob, with bases on a single enclosed sprue (these are not clipped from the larger sprue).

I may bid on it just to see if these are legit.
