Timeline 300 needs you!

More specifically, it needs your art skills, for the Timeline 300 rulebook.

To that end, we're holding an artwork competition.

We're looking for you to draw, paint, photograph, or engrave in stone images that fit with the Timeline 300 universe.

Not sure what kind of images might fit?
Drop by our website, and download our WIP rulebook for a start. Perhaps you'd like to paint an image of a battle, or troops at rest, officers planning an engagement, or something entirely more whimsical such as a parade or a tea party, just so long as your art features images and designs that are recognizably inspired by the Timeline 300 model range then your entry will be assured of... a prize!

Every entrant will receive a free squad of 5 British Gentleman Adventurers (unless we get so many entrants that we run out of stock / use up the world's supply of pewter), plus one troublemaker games plastic infantry base.

The overall winning entrant (which will be chosen by a public vote on our Facebook page), will receive any metal blister pack or resin super-heavy vehicle of her (or his) choice from the Timeline 300 model range.

To enter simply post your picture on our Facebook page, email us your entry at troublemakergames@gmail.com, or post it in a public location and tell us where to find it. By entering this competition you are giving us permission to use your artwork in the Timeline 300 rulebook (you will receive an appropriate authorship credit if your artwork is chosen for inclusion). Six second sketches entered just to nab 5 free gentlemen will be looked upon disdainfully.

The closing date for submissions will be the 31st of January.

So instead of paying your artists you are gonna offer them around 20p worth of pewter at £12rrp?

And the person that wins 'the competition' will be able to get a second £12 blister pack.

Utterly ridiculous. Have a little more respect for artists, and perhaps you'll get some quality work.

I am currently taking commissions.

well if the book will be free then its a decent deal. I'm still confused as to why hes looking for artists here for a book. We do have some very talented artists, but almost entirely for minatures. Perhaps strike a deal with some decent artists about making images of your minis on the tabletop instead?

The rulebook is indeed free to download, and will always remain so.

If we ever get to the stage of selling a version of it, we'll be using new artwork and certainly be paying any artists who are working with us... but we don't have £1000 to publish the rulebook right now, nor another £2000 to commission artwork for the rulebook!

Maybe one day. :-)

This is simply a competition/promotion that has a guarantee of free toy soldiers for every single entrant, and it's open to anybody of any skill level.

Thanks for the idea - we'll pencil that in to our "things to do" agenda.

£12 blister pack.

Don't know whether we'll be able to convince you AG, but we also have blisters costing £14 and £15. :-)
