So how effective is this list? Still new to the game and need advise.

I have been playing PAras for awhile now and that is a decent list.

Is it better to have 4 c/t Shermans or 3 C/V shermans

Stick with CT for now, if you're mostly playing vs mech or armoured. Being easier to hit might not matter if you're going to be bringing them on from reserve in a counter attack.
