I am a new player and have chosen Circle. Something has me slightly confused though. A lot of abilities in the Faction book say things like "Modifiers to movement only apply to a model's normal movement". What exactly does this mean? For example when using the Gnarled Satyrs Animus it gives him a bonus to his movement if he makes a charge. Is this normal movement? What exactly would classify as non-regular movement?

And now for some clarifications:

1. If I use the Druids magic ability that isn't an attack am I right that I don't need to make a check for it. It just happens (such as Vortex), though that is of course their action for that turn?
2. If I use the Druids magic attack ability (such as Force bolt) I roll 2D6 and add 7 and check vs the targets defense?

Thanks in advance. Will probably come up with more later.

Answer for the main question: Sometimes models can move outside of their movement actions. Lightning Strike allows a model to move at the end of its activation. So a model that had Lightning Strike and something that only applied to its normal movement would only get its normal speed. Likewise if your Gnarlhorn hadhis animus cast on him he would not get the extra 2" for counter charging since that is not "normal movement". Basically normal movement is what you expend your move action to accomplish.

1 & 2) These are both correct statements.

Normal movement is what you do during your activation - your runs, advancing and charges.

there are spells and abilities that let you move outside of this. for example, Kromac's Warpath spell. Or through the use of the Warpwolf Stalker's animus Lightning Strike.
