Subject: Smashotron's Log of Traitors and Renegades // Vendettas and Sabre Platforms (Jan 1st)
Hey Dakka,
I find myself putting up a thread whenever I get a conversion idea, so instead I'm going to combine all my work into one log of my progress. I have an Imperial Guard force that I run as traitors that worship that great big bile in the sky, Nurgle. I also run a Nurgle Chaos Space Marines force. I've been doing a lot of conversions for the former and lots of painting for the latter.
Here I'd like to show my progress with both and get any feedback I can. If any thing looks bad, let me know. I can fix it! Right now I've been build Sabre Platforms for my traitors and just recently I've started building a pair of Vendettas from scratch. These are the Sabres so far:
Spoiler:
For the Vendetta I have used a plastic tea can, Stormraven wings, a Robogear flyer, brass pipes and plastic card.
Thanks for taking a look! Let me know what you think in the comments below!

I've managed to put armored plating and rivets on my first Vendetta. I also added magnets within the chassis so I can add sponson Heavy Bolters. Comments & criticism welcome!

Subject: Smashotron's Traitors and Renegades // Chains and battle damage (01/04)
After some suggestion in my previous thread, I have decided to add those more Chaotic details to my Sabre Platforms. While I'm not a fan of throwing spikes on everything, I did find jewelry chain at the local craft store that is perfect for 40k scale projects. I may also incorporate these chains to my Chimeras in the future. Here are the Sabres as they stand now:

Subject: Smashotron's Traitors and Renegades // Chaos bits and Pask (01/11)
Lately, I have been painting up some little bits, in between building the Vendettas and Sabres, that I want to add to my Chimeras, Rhinos, Russes, and Vendettas to apply a bit more Chaos flavor to things without using spikes. I may add some chain to these bits when I attach them to the vehicles. Here I painted up some spare Beastman and Skaven shields. The photos aren't great but they demonstrate what I did.
Spoiler:
I also finished up some traitors for my Heavy Weapon Squads as well as my traitor Pask model.
Lastly, I finished up my Vendettas and just now primed them. I paint to start knocking them out soon. Once they're painted I'll build my Vulture.
As always, I appreciate any comments and criticism that come my way. Until next time!

While I am busy painting up my air force and anti-air platforms, my lady put some extra touches on her Lone Wolf Terminator, Mrs. Fluffybutt. After we learned that SW Termies cannot Deep Strike, she's been thinking about using her as a Wolf Guard leader for a Drop Pod squad instead. She is adding a hint of red glitter to all her power weapons. Does it seem to ruin the great gradient she did, or does it add the right amount of something nice?
Spoiler:
She is also deciding on what secondary red to use on her sergeant helmets. What do you think about this red combo? It's Mechrite Red as the base with Wild Rider Red on top. Is the Wild Rider too blight or just right?
As always, all comments and criticisms are appreciated! I will post this weekend with a Vendetta update!

I just wanted to put up a quick update of my progress on the Vendettas before I take them to our local tournament tomorrow. I apologize for the sloppy photos, as always, but I hope you like how they're looking.

Subject: Smashotron's Traitors and Renegades // Need Help! Paint Scheme for "Sisters" of Battle! (01/22)
Hey folks, I've been assembling a contingent of Sister of Battle to compliment my Imperial Guard force. I've been picking at the project for years but I just don't know what paint scheme to use for them. They are basically the heavy infantry for my traitor guard force, soldiers in power armor with bolters, using their devotion to Chaos to fuel them in battle. Intially I was painting them with Camo Green cloth and Dheneb Stone armor, almost a flip from the Dheneb Stone cloth and Death World Forest armor on the Guardsmen.
Recently though, I started to dislike the Sisters' scheme after applying battle damage. It just didn't look right. Either I was doing it wrong, or shouldn't have added any in the first place. Because of this I decided to switch the Dheneb Stone armor to Chaos Black armor. At first I liked it, but now I feel like it doesnt blend well with the Traitor Guard and Deathguard elements of my forces. Basically I am looking for an armor color to use that will compliment the rest of my models. Orange armor and tan bolters? Keep the black armor? Switch back to tan armor? Lose the Orange bolters?
The main issue is that, even though I'm not a huge fan of Camo Green, I have three pots of it and no Orkz to use it on. I have painted the SoB and CSM vehicles Camo Green with Orange secondary colors so the Sisters' cloth will at least compliment their vehicles. What do you guys think? I really need a hand here.
Here are my Guardsmen on the left, two example Sisters in center, and a Plague Champion on the right.

More bad pictures! After my first test game using the Sisters of Battle, I have put more focus into completing their models. I played 1750 against Dark Eldar with allied Eldar and somehow managed to squeak by a win. More importantly I gained a good feel on what models I want to be using and what might be a waste of materials. Currently I am considering a list with these forces:
2 Battle Bro squads with Multi-melta
1 Battle Bro squad with Flamers
1 Dominion squad with Meltas
1 Retribution squad with Heavy Bolters
Spoiler:
Here are the Multi-meltas I am working on for my Traitor heavy infantry:
This here is my Brother Sergeant for the Retribution squad. He is short is power-pack but otherwise I am happy about the model:
Along with the Sergeant, I've had my Heavy Bolters finished minus power-packs (considering incorporating an ammo clip to the packs):
I am also working on a pair of Power axe-wielding Brother Sergeants for the Dominions and the Flamer Battle Bro squad. I chose Power axes since the Bros are already I3 so will usually strike last anyway. This is the same philosophy as my Plague Marines really.
And finally here are some generic Brother Sergeants I have been fiddling with. The shields are cosmetic, but do you think it could cause confusion? I've considered using then as Crusaders instead but I had no plans to use four Crusaders even when fielding Jacobus. Thoughts?
All comments and criticism is appreciated! Please tell me what you like! Tell me what you hate!

Hey guys, another quick update today, featuring the work-in-progress of my Saint Celestine conversion. I dub him the Rotten Saint. Currently I've just secured the major parts and will doing up the wings and body with greenstuff for a diseased effect. What do you guys think?
Apologies for my poor photography as always. Comments & criticism appreciated!

Thanks! I decided to give him a big two-handed plague sword instead since Celestine carries just a sword and no pistol. I like the look of the two-handed weapon wielding models GW has, like the Gabriel Seth and the Sister Repentia. My photos don't show that the tip ends flat and square, like the plague sword from the Plague Marines kit. I may trim down the sword though!
Also I just realized what you meant by Uruk-hai sword. I always liked the look of those so I will definitely try it out.

This is definitely awesome and nice to see you adding to your Nurgle Guardsmen. Your work has definitely gotten far more interesting since the last time I saw most of it. Keep it up!

I'd recognize that Cygnar model anywhere. Thanks Andrew! Speaking of Warmachine, I may be including the Convergence to this thread when those models come out. Brass robots of Nurgle? Sure!
For now though, i've recently put together some Dealth Cultists for Jacob's retinue. They are all modeled with power swords and power axes, though one guy's axe looks more like a mace. This will allow me to choose between S4 AP3 swings at I6, or S5 AP 2 swings at I1 for Terminators. Since these guys don't come with grenades, when charging through cover I may uses the axes anyway. I am treating them as unarmored Marines/infantry fueled by battle lust and an urge to spread decay.

First off, here is a better shot of my Death Cultists for your eyes to gander:
Secondly, I have been staring out my Typhus model for ages and I finally decided to paint him. Here are what some of my Plague Marines look like so I painted him with this same scheme. The only things to do now are finish his scythe, paint the base and then paint the nurglings. I really don't know what to do about the nurglings yet.
Thanks for looking!

Some great stuff here! I really like the white generally; I like the contrast of the bright colours but think that they could maybe need a nuln oil wash or similar to filth them a bit?
