On the back of a hog.

I know the majority are just souls in armor after the spell to stop mutation.

My question concerns those with notable psychic ability that maintained their sentience.

Did said sorceres lose their bodies too? I have heard conflicting reports on different sites.

Lastly, any theory as to why Magnus, upon being saved by Tzeentch didn't try to save his precious few remaining sons from the unstable mutations? Leaving Airhman feeling like he had no choice but to act on his own?

No, the only ones who were turned into dust were the weaker ones. However, the stronger ones are also (at least so far) free of mutation, without having to give up their corporeal form. Of course, for many Chaos Marines, they become part of their armor anyway, just not in as dramatic fashion as the rubricae.

Magnus didn't get saved by Tzeench. Anyway, at the time he was lost to ambivalence and despair, realizing he was just a pawn all along and looking for some justification that he was right to act as he did, and of course finding nothing.

Well answered, Omegus. I think there is some speculation, although I cannot recall the source, that Ahriman's rubric was in part meant to snap Magnus out of it and move him to act in preventing the flesh change.

Ahriman wasn't entirely sure what the Rubric would do exactly. Realistically, I don't think anyone other than Tzeentch himself knew. It was sort of a "crossing the stream to reverse the particle flow" type gamble. Ahzek was carrying some serious fleshchange baggage due to his brother's untimely demise and was just about ready to do anything to prevent it. Magnus was likely still in a state of shock from the recent events while this was going on.

Magnus, had just thought his dad had tried to have him killed for trying to protect him. If i were him i'd be a bit worse for ware.

Battle of the Fang (Not sure if spoiler)
Spoiler:

Some of the non-Rubric Marine Thousand Sons in Battle of the Fang didn't sound mutation free, I'm afraid.

Kronk, remember that some of them (those who were worshiping Tzeentch at the outset) viewed mutation as a gift.

The only one to show active mutation was being possessed by Magnus, and he took great pains to hide his birdification from the other sorcerers.
