Subject: Should I sell my models?

Hey everyone,
I have recently got into warhammer 40k and have a small little collection of lord of the ringd characters that i collected just because iwas into painting them and loved the movies. I never actually played the game because noone plays around here. I was thinking about selling my models and was wondering if i should because of the recent release of the hobbit game. Most of my models are haradrim, uruk'hi and some goblins and lurtz and witch king. Most are only primed with the exception of the uruk'hi and some haradrim. Do you think i should sell them or trade them for some 40k stuff? Is there enough demand for them?

You might try Bartertown to trade. Those are all older models though, so demand should be somewhat limited at this time. If they were all new on spruce that may be different.

Do you think with the release of the hobbit that the forces will be more in demand? I havent looked to much into the new hobbit game but from what the guy at the FLGS said was that the characters should be all playable in the hobbit games. Im not sure if that would increase demand tho

Honestly the hobbit release has garnered very little attention for the game, which actually makes me rather sad. I was hoping some new people would join the game in large numbers, but I guess the lack of cheap starting options drove everyone off.
Heck I'm still putting off buying the new rulebook o.o

I have seen some new interest in the game, but older armies are not getting the large part of that interest as they are not outlined in the new book. They are still fully playable, but the major interest online I Have seen is in the new stuff, but with disappointment on that cost.
As for new players, I think Tezerel is correct that the high starting point of the box set(while very reasonable give the contents) seems to be setting it outside the price of the average LotR player. GIven that previously, the game was easy to get into(low cost rulebook), and army cost was low as well, with the new prices it appears that GW has discovered this issue and are now trying to capture the lost income at the start by simply making the LotR stuff that much more in cost. Take into account the White Counsel box(4 figures, all of which already existed in several poses) for $60. This to me is very out of the norm as those figures in blisters would maybe have been $10 figures given their size.
