"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime."Leman Russ |

QuickShade is good to get basic paintwork up to a good visual level for tabletop, quickly and easily. It won't turn a three colour paint scheme into a Golden Daemon winner.
It varnishes at the same time as it shades the model. The finish is semi-gloss. A spray of matt varnish can be put on at the end.
Quickshade works best on organic finishes like Ork skin, Tyranids and clothing.

It will give a better effect than plain paint.
It will not be as good as careful edge highlighting by hand. That takes a lot more work.
It depends on how good you want each figure to look.
I want my models to look good when they are on the table in a battle. If people pick them up to look closely, they will not look as good, but I don't mind. Automatically Appended Next Post: The other thing is you have to practice a bit with QuickShade, as with any painting method.
I use the paint on, paint off method. Some people use the dip and spin method.
You will get different results based on your technique. You need to try it out and see what is best for you.

If by "quickshade" you mean dipping, then I wouldn't do that for anything with big flat surfaces (like Marines) and would only use it for things with some texture to their surface which the dip can work in to (Orks, Tyranids, Skeletons, etc).
If by "quickshade", you mean you plan to paint it on (rather than dip), that CAN look good even on models like Space Marines, if you do it right.

I use it on space marines and it looks good, dip it in then flick it 10 times or so and give it 10 min then use a brush to take away any pooling/excess. Leave 48 hours! (you must do this or it will turn funny when you spray the matt), spray with the matt spray and higlight, the highlight makes a world of difference.
Don't get disheartened until you spray the matt.
Does the same as washes but it's never going to be as good as it's a single brown pigment, instead of different colour washes for different areas.
