I know the price difference between the veteran pack and upgrade, they seem relatively the same. What does the vet pak come with that the upgrade does not, and is it worth it? Thanks guys?

Vet pack comes with the command sprue, which you'll find in every Space Marine tactical squad. It's the sprue with some purity seals, errant armor chestpiece, backbanners, plasma gun, melta, flamer, plasma pistols, chainswords, and so on. The veteran box also has bases, but whoopdee doo.

Unless you're really hurting for special weapons, the sprue is a better choice.

The upgrade kit used to be the deal of the century until GW noticed. Now, they have the same stuff except the special command sprue and the bases.

That being said, it is still an awesome kit. I used mine for Company Veterans and still had enough to model my Word Bearers Aspiring Champions from the robed bodies.

The sprue is 13.25 less so unless you need special weapons or bases buy the sprue.
