I will have 36 Necron Warriors ready soon and was wondering whether or not it would be best to stick them in two groups or three, and whether or not I should add a lord with an orb to either? Obviously two large groups would be harder to kill, but three would allow me to fire on more enemies without wasting anything. As for the lords, they will have orbs and staffs of light.

I know that Arks or Scythes are good for transport bunt until I get them built and painted I have to do some foot slogging.

Advice anyone?

Footsloggers I find should be 10-12, with a 2+/Res Orb/Flamer Glove Lord in each

I like 16 per squad with res/warscythe Lords and Ghost Arks in support. Put them in cover and watch people try to get them out.

I have the finecast Lords(3), can I call his attached weapon either a warscychte or staff of light?

I just played my first game ever, and was against Eldar, I had the 1 group with a lord and one without and they seemed to do good at living but not at killing the wraith lords so that's why I was kinda leaning for three groups seeing as I can try to kill one with a group and still be able to move another to either attack something else or claim an objective without fear of being assulted.

the Staff in the Lords hand isnt actually a Weapon in itself anymore, so seeing as WYSIWYG isnt an option, it could be a Lascannon.

I have 2 old Metal Lords, and I usually run them as Scythes myself.

I clipped one side of the staff off to make a warscythe.

You could run a squad of 20 with an orb. There is always the small danger they run away.

I dont think an orb and lord is worth the cost untill a squad gets to arround that size.

If you are footslogging, no reason to stay small. Plus the larger the squad the more cost effective it is to put a Lord in there.

A squad of 20 getting babysat by a couple Ghost Arks is very hard to destroy, except by a sweeping advance. And that is probably going to mandate an expensive assault unit like TH/SS terminators.

4 squads of 8, with a cryptek should be enough, spend more on toys, and then use them as objective holders and fire support

The Silver Lances: 4000 pts

True, however they are likely to outright destroy the unit eventually. Although I should have clarified.

I dont think I will be comming upon Termies any time soon, except maybe some chaos ones, so larger squads would help me in that scenario, although I guess it really depends on what I play.

Dont have a cryptek yet, but I am working on getting a Des Lord to use with some wraiths who can help with the termies I think.
