At present my friend and i are working on a grey knights with marines and have the following questions for any knowladgable player

Why do people not take the assasin especially the vindicare so far in our playtesting games he has killed Ghazgull thaka a wraithlord a space marine predator and a stormtalon and numerous other troops is there a strong reason against him in tournament lists

also do physic attaks like holocaust scatter and are there modifyers to be applied or is it a straight hit

my paladin loadout is apothocary banner bearer demon hammer one guy with power blade and one with power sword whats the premium loadout

any advice would be helpful

This probably belongs in the lists section.

The Vindicare is generally a bit too easy to kill for his points. While he is situationally a good choice a savvy player will either ignore/mitigate his use or go after him right away and wipe him out.

The apothecary is way too many points as a really viable upgrade to an already uber unit. 10 Paladins with 4 Psycannons and Coteaz casting Prescience is devastating.

But better still is Coteaz and another Inquisitor (both using Prescience) plus 50 or so Stormbolter henchmen and 2 full units of Purifiers with Psycannons getting rerolls to hit from the Inquisitors. Not even flyers can stand up to that much re-rollable firepower.

Thanks for the help i had wondered why the assassin did not appear in many list and now i appreciate why

So by the sounds of it we should be looking at the inquisitor section a bit more as a long time marine player i believed the core of the grey nights would be the power armoured marines with their BS of 4 and the ability to shrug off most non power/heavy weapon seemed to be the way to go we have tinkered with interceptors whilst good they seem to be a bit of a suicide run/last turn objective takers and have not really looked at the purifiers

Once again thanks for the help and we will give it a go
