Sword-Wielding Bloodletter of Khorne

Epidermis is awesome obviously as a force multiplier for all nurgle lists but hes a bit of a one trick pony right?

I think Blue scribes just for their flexibility and maneuverability? But to pricey so maybe a tzeench disc herald?

This really depends on the rest of your army. If you run a primary detachment of Chaos Marines with all Nurgle stuff (with long range firepower too), then Epidemius is by far the best Daemons Herald, but in an Allied detachment.

But in straight up combat, obviously Skulltaker is the best, worth the extra points vs a regular Herald of Khorne because of the 4+ instant death rending attacks. But you'd need to run him in a huge unit of Bloodletters or preferably 8 Bloodcrushers. It takes that many bodyguards just so he can make it into combat.

However, I find the most useful Herald all around is a Herald of Tzeentch on a chariot with Bolt and/or Breath and/or Icon, and Mastery (only can take 3 gifts). The Icon is handy as when the Herald comes in you Turboboost to get good positioning, usually in my less favored wave choice, so the good units from my preferred wave don't scatter Turn 2/3/4. Plus if you can be firing a Bolt/Breath that'll hurt stuff, or Bolt/Gaze you can wreck light vehicles/Dreads from the rear. And he's cheap, like 125/130 points.

But none of them will replace a Bloodthirster's onslaught. A Nurgle Daemon Prince with Breath/Wings/Hide/Flies would be good, at least you could have a Swooping Breathy tough model who can land, Breathe, and assault into cover too.

I love the Tzeentch Herald on a Chariot but have found you really need to give him Soul Devourer. It's a bit spendy for what is basically just a power weapon but he will lose assault to any MEQ without it.

Who all has run a Tzeentch Chariot in 6th ed? The BRB implies all chariots are vehicles now but only Slaanesh chariots were updated in the WD so as it stands Tzeentch or Khone chariots are not vehicles and still get the extra wounds and toughness etc from Codex Demons but also get +1 Armor Save, d6 S6 Hammer of Wrath from the BRB.

Anyone allowing Tzeentch Chariots to making Sweep Attacks? It would seem Sweep Attack was RAI intended just for Tzeentch Chariots but they are jetbikes not skimmers per RAW...

I've used skulltaker on a Jugg quite a bit so far in 6th.

Let me tell you, hes an absolute beast. The general rule in dueling is -- if your opponent does not have Eternal Warrior, he is dead. If Skulltaker faces someone with EW, then Skulltaker usually takes one for the team.

He can also clean the clock with multi-wound models. In one game I had him kill 3 spawn by himself in one assault phase.
