Subject: Daemons - Tzeentch Herald Advice?

So currently looking at using Daemons under 6th ed and looking at the Tzeentch Heralds but I'm a bit torn about how to kit him out.
At the moment, I'm thinking of the standard (or best) load out of a Tzeentch Herald with Master of Sorcery, Bolt of Tzeentch and We Are Legion but I'm unsure to have him on a Chariot or Disc. At the moment, the Chariot pees all over the disc due to the stat changes to the Herald but I'm slightly worried about the rumors of a Daemon update (either as codex or WD) and I can see the Chariot being brought in line like the Slaanesh one. So I suppose my questions are...
1 ) Has anybody had any joy with a Herald on a Disc? Only bonus I can see is being on a big base which is useful when Deep Striking in with a unit.
2 ) Has anybody had any joy with a Slaaneshi Herald on a Chariot? They look really fragile and don't seem as useful as the old version (before the Codex update)
Cheers

I used to run Tzeetch Heralds on a Chariot because there was not a good unit to join them to on a Disc (flamers were not what they are now). I now run them exclusively on a disc and usually I run them naked otherwise so they are point efficient and cheaply fill what I think is now a pretty weak slot in the Daemon codex (HQ).
I have not run the Slaanesh herald, but I have run chariots and I cannot see paying to put a 2 wound model onto the chariot to get destroyed when the chariot charges - the chariot charge rules are pretty bad in general imo, even with additional impact hits.

Why bother running them at all if you are using them with no upgrades? Sorry if I'm being a bit thick but what do they add to the unit of flamers when used like this (apart from bigger Deep Strike area)?

Pretty much my thoughts. When used before the updates they were useful as a 5W combat unit with lots of attacks but I can't see a use for them now bar if you like the model

The bigger deep strike foorptint and an HQ for around 70 points - who can eat some wounds from the Flamers.
The other options are Greater Daemons - way overpriced for a 4 wound monster, Khorne Herald - really expesive, Slaanesh herald - cheap but lackluster stats and Nurgle Herald who is just terrible.
You could use the Scribes or upgrade to Bolt, MoS, We Are Legion to make the Herald a generic anti-tank shooter. That said, those are the first upgrades I cut.

I like your idea of keeping the herald cheap. In low points games it can really be a life saver. Let's say we use 2x 5 daemonettes as troops and a naked T herald on dics in a unit of flamers we have alot of points left for some fun stuff like fiends, seekers, bloodcrushers. Of course most of us would prefer more flamers or screamers though. I might even be able to make a decent 500-750 list with a naked Tzerald on disc filling up that HQ slot.
