Posted this elsewhere, zero response. Should have figured here would be the best place to go! But looking for help ahead of making orders to start my new project.

Hi Folks,

Going to be doing my first ever extensive project for Warhammer soon.

Normally a base for my army is just, pva, dip in static grass, shake about. Let it dry.

But I've just started Ogre Kingdoms and decided to go a bit...nuts. (seeing as theres so few models....lets not mention the army back story I've decided on either....*dies a little inside)

I'm going to be chopping the top of my bases off - then gluing the shell to plasticard.

I then intend to create a swamp environment - and fill the hollows (large or small) with something for a water effect.

Would a resin like Envirotex Lite be best? Or would you suggest Vallejo Water Effect. (I'd like to be able to see to the bottom which is a few mm - on occasion I may also chop away the remaining plastic for a completely see through base) Or is there something I've missed which is miles better?

I also plan to drop a few drops of Green/blue Ink in to the mix so it isn't a pure water colour.

Fiiiiinally.

Does anyone know a good place to buy things like small leaves/plants for basing? (UK) I've already collected bundles of dead wood and broken bits of slate but always want more....

(Ps. Am I fine to set a model in this stuff too? Planning of having a few ogres with there feet stuck in the water with a few other bits and bobs)

Many thanks for your assistance.

Extra PS. I'll put a photo up when done - assuming not rubbish as a thank you also )
