Thagrosh, Prophet of Everblight (*5pts)
* Harrier (2pts)
* Shredder (2pts)
* Scythean (9pts)
* Scythean (9pts)
* Seraph (8pts)
Blighted Ogrun Warspears (Leader and 4 Grunts) (8pts)
+ Warspear Chieftain (2pts)
With the spoiler for the new Warspear Chieftain I feel like Thagrosh gets the most mileage out of them. With Draconic Terror and Huntsman the unit puts out 12 P+S 17 attacks on the charge if you can hit your Prey target, half at RAT 7, half at MAT 9. With Death Shroud and concealment they'll probably survive to make that charge too. I'm a little worried about Thag's feat getting shut down though, since I've never really played with him I'm worried about one of the Scytheans getting removed.
The general plan is to use slipstream to get the Scytheans up before anything else, where one or both will probably die after taking out dudes early. Then the warspears come in for wave 2 while I feat back one of the Scytheans.

Just a suggestion, but I'd drop the Harrier and upgrade one of the Scytheans to a Carny. That way you can get both your heavies up to ARM 22 in melee, ARM 20 vs. shooting. It goes a long way to keep them safe and being on top of the piece trade that he's so good at pulling off due to feat. I think the warspears were ok before, but kind of weak hitting, but the new UA definately has some potential. They help block LOS and Prey is killer. Be careful not to get the UA killed early since prey will be gone should that happen. Unfortunately the warspears are still not quite as sturdy as I'd like, but pThags helps their ARM in melee. Being shot off the board is still a concern. I also am not a huge fan of the Seraph these days since 8pts for an animus seems a little much. I'd drop the shredder since you have SG from the Carny, and make it a Scythean and add a Shepherd since fury management is going to be an issue. Normally I'd say make it a Ravagore, but 3 heavies without fury management if rough. Being without range is tough, but he can brick up fairly well. Points: 35/35 Thagrosh, Prophet of Everblight (*5pts) * Carnivean (11pts) * Scythean (9pts) * Scythean (9pts) * Shepherd (1pt) * Blighted Ogrun Warspears (Leader and 4 Grunts) (8pts) + Warspear Chieftain (2pts) Hope it goes well, and that the list works for ya!

I would try to fit a Ravagore in there instead of a second Scythean. This army will move slowly to stay within the Death Shroud. So, you need something to threaten from a distance. And, nothing threatens quite like a Ravagore. It will force your opponent to come to you.

I can't really disagree with anything you just said. I'm going to give that list a shot.

Having a good ranged element is important and I usually run the Trio for pThags. Carny, Scythean, Ravagore, but the Warspears with UA in a 35pt list makes it hard to crunch it in without ditching the shepherd who I feel is necessary to keep three heavies under control. Thags can handle 2 no problem, but 3 will get tricky.
You can always try it out without the Shepherd and upgrade one of the Scytheans to a Ravagore. My bet is that one of them will frenzy, but even that can be manageable with his feat, placement and how you choose to engage.
As a side note for pThags, his feat hates anything that RFPs. Trolls for example have snacking on their heavies. Meaning they will eat your heavies literally and heal, and since spiny growth hurts them when they attack, they are guaranteed to RFP your models (SAD FACE). Can't bring back a model that has been removed from play. Keep that in mind when choosing match ups as his feat goes a long way towards his attrition game, especially at lower point levels.
I hope the Warspears work out for you in that list, but I feel they might fit better in 50pt lists. Here is the 35pt list I run which does not include the Warspears.
Points: 35/35
Thagrosh, Prophet of Everblight (*5pts)
* Carnivean (11pts)
* Scythean (9pts)
* Ravagore (10pts)
* Shepherd (1pt)
* Full Unit of Legos (6pts)
* Full Spawning Vessel (3pts)
I use the Legos+Pot to help me attrition his screens while the Ravagore forces engagement and kills off key solos, UAs, tags heavies. Once they push forward, I bait with the Ravagore since its a great piece to start your exchange with. Use the Scythean for clean up and Carny as back up, pop feat to bring back what I need, usually the Ravagore, while spawning lessers lol. I usually get a Shredder out early so I have a transfer target and backup tenacity battery for late game should the Carny go down, but after that I pop out whatever seems more useful. Don't underestimate the power of popping out a Stinger with a charge lane open to their caster. P/S 12 plus 4 dice vs. living on the charge can end games.
The succubus is a great addition for 50pts since you'll be spamming the animi around more and he needs a little more fury to play with, but I can't fit it in at 35. Deathstalkers are always a plus and many use the Throne at that level. It's ARM 23 in melee is difficult to deal with.
Hope this helps.
