To me this has happened but I can't remember it in any other edition, why in 6E are there so many plasma and sometimes melta guns on SM and CSM etc.

Plasma is "in" in 6E because of rapid fire, range, ap2, melta is still in because of ease of pen hits with hull points and +1 for damage chart for plasma, +2 for melta.

Flamers have had a resurgence as well because of the favorable "Wall of Death" rule.

Meltaguns were always a popular choice for an infantry special weapon. They can reliably destroy most vehicles with a small number of shots (a single meltagun on a marine has a 32% chance of destroying an AV 10 target and a 19.4% chance of destroying an AV14 target in a single shot), can ID T4, and can still be somewhat effective against high-toughness and save targets (like MANZ, Tyranid Monstrous Creatures, etc). The fact that they often come cheap and have no chance of killing their user is also a plus.
Plasmaguns are more popular in 6th because of three factors. The first is the introduction of hull points, meaning that plasma guns can actually kill vehicles rather than just stun them. The second are the changes to rapid fire. Since you can get a shot at 24" now if you rapid fire, you now will more often get roughly 1/2 an extra shot from each plasma gun. The third reason they have become more popular is a shift in several metas to TEQ heavy armies. This is partially because vehicles are weaker, and partially because AP 2 is significantly harder to find, as most armies go to anti-teq units were armed with power weapons, which now are either non AP2 or strike at I1.
Flamers got better than they were, as cover is easier to get and the reintroduction of wall of death. However, unlike Plasma, which got better at killing more things, and melta, which is good against a lot of targets, Flamers are fairly narrow, being at their best at dealing with low save infantry, particularly when in cover. As a result, you should expect to see a large upswing in plasma, coupled by a slight decline in melta (because Plasma is just as good if not better against many of melta's targets) and a decline in flamers (since you now get more mileage out of each flamer).

I've noticed this too, I feel its the alure of being able to prevent your opponent from being able to make armour saves.

I don't follow can you stand at stationary shoot a 24" round and get two shots? And what is this wall of death rule?

They are in there, check the list at the back, under W. If not, you should get around to picking it up, it is a necessity to play really, you'll make a lot of errors with out it

I fail to see the OP's point. Is this a discussion or just a statement of fact?
