20X Battle Sisters
1X Rhino
5X Sheraphim

Well how is it for a Sisters of Battle Battleforce?

Please give details on how to improve

Im going for a Battleforce like the ones GW sell.

So i added 2 squads of Battle Sisters
A Rhino
And 5 Sheraphim
Total Price of around 140$ where i work, no i don't own the shop but i am in charge of our GW section.
Basically it will be 100$ so you save around 40$
any opinions?

Is it supposed to be playable on its own? Is it meant to be an Allies detachment?

What's the purpose of it / what are you trying to accomplish?

You mean like the fact it needs an HQ to be an allied force or that it needs both an HQ and another squad of sisters to be a playable force on its own?

Stating your intentions is usually a good start.

I think he means battleforce as in the battleforce deals that GW sells. Like the ork one with a trukk, 20 boyz, and 3 bikers, or the IG one with 20 guardsmen, a command squad, and a sentinel.

Maybe he owns a store or something and is looking for a cool way to make a bundle?

To be a true battle force, there needs to be a less useful unit. Maybe a penitent engine?

That's why there's Repentia.

Penitent Engines are apparently useful in sixth edition according to some of my fellow players.

yes, im looking for a cool way to make a bundle and i mean one of the battleforces that GW sell, i don't know about the Penitent Engine though because all the BattleForces ive seen have no huge machines other then transports. (I know most don't offer HQs either) and I'm going for around a 100$ force, so i may add an hq and some more sisters, any opionions

As for the Penitent Engine or the Repentia, i'm ok with switching it, but which should be used? Opinions.

Actually, the Sisterhood already had a battleforce box ... loooooong ago.

Canoness, Standard Bearer, Sister Superior, 11 Battle Sisters, 5 Seraphim

But leaving out the HQ would probably make it more attractive to players who already have one. Adding a Rhino instead would work. And, of course, reducing the number of Battle Sisters to 9 + Superior, so that they can all mount up.

Basically, what you suggested, just with Seraphim instead of Repentia. Or ... as an alternative to Seraphim/Repentia, how about a Retributor squad? Might work better as a universal add-on.

GW is selling three SoB's for $17.25. Your goal of $100 is gonna cause trouble with 20 Sisters as a base for the battleforce.

A ton of armies and a terrain habit...

If you want a sisters "battleforce" it HAS to have a sister-vibe, so it should contain the special sisters stuff.

In your suggested box you have 20 sisters (core unit, nothing special), 5 repentia (doubtfully useful) and a rhino (common as feth.)

Now, 20 sisters is repetetive, but required to make 2 squads-but make sure you got 2 squad leaders, and probably a heavy bolter for each too.
As for repentia, I don't like them much, maybe dominions instead (with immolator instead of rhino, but thats a hell lot of look-alike sister models)
Seraps could also be intresting, and so is the engine.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

I think your initial idea of 20 sisters (including at least 2 superiors and 2 special weapons), a rhino & 5 seraphim is the way to go really, They are all useful (unlike penitent engines and repentia)

Additionally a forgeworld exorcist turret would be killer or replace the rhino with an immolator.

This looks way out of your price goal though.

I dunno if it'[s possible to do that while staying under the price limit...

What you have looks good. Penitent Engines and Repentia are fun models, but PE don't become useful until you have 3, and Repentia take a specific plan and larger numbers to be useful. Exorcist costs too much for a starter kit. Seraphim and Sister squads are useful right out of the box, no plan required - stick with them.

He appears to work for a shop and they are trying to create bulk deals for their customers designed around the battleforce idea.

It is interesting that he is doing this with direct only models like SOB though. $100 for $140 of sisters is a pretty decent deal.

Penitent Engine is also not exactly a Sisters of Battle unit but, just like the Arco-Flagellants, an Ecclesiarchy one. For most players, that should not matter much, but some may prefer to gear their army stronger towards pure SoB.

On a sidenote, for the core of the battleforce - the Battie Sisters Squad - I'd recommend 7 bolter Sisters, 1 melta, 1 flamer, 1 Sister Superior. It's the most allround setup, somewhat similar to an Astartes Tactical Squad. Probably obvious, but I'll rather add it here just in case.

Also, scratch my previous comment about the Rhino - if you are able to get the Immolator for the same price as well, include that one. This way, the buyer can always decide for himself whether or not they want to make it an APC or a tank.

Yeah, the immolator kit is just so good that you should always buy it over a rhino, even if you don't plan on making an immo.

Seems like a reasonable "battleforce" style bundle. Also the $100 price seems very reasonable compared to the ones out there that cost $110 or $125.

I am dubious about this whole thing, the figures dont seem to add up. Coupled with the errors in the grey knights thread makes me think you are pulling our leg in some manner.

Either way if there are potentially pennies involved and something is afoot is it not worth knowing the full story?
