Ymgarl genestealers are still very useful, as they are one of the few units that can assault the turn they arrive from reserves.

Never underestimate the Genestealers ability to sweeping advance EVERYTHING! |

Slightly nerfed?
Can you explain what you mean by this? From my point of view, they went from medium level threat to very nearly completely useless. I would describe not being able to assault after outflanking, not being able to assault after running, and the addition of overwatch as some of the biggest nerfs of all time. Y-stealers at least can assault after arrival, so they are still good. Normaly stealers... not so much.

Genestealers can work as Broodlord delivery unit.
They still make good infiltrators, if you are going second. They either draw fire, fore the opponent to move, you get a turn 1 assault.
Run them in large enough broods the opponent has to worry about them. This approach just got a little more interesting after the last FAQ to shooting. MAke it big enough and run it strung out enough and suddenly it becomes a 2 or three turn threat that eats fire.
And personally barring flamers and Foreboding, I am finding overwatch not all the painful most of the time.

I really like genestealers, but en mass. With 1 or 2 units, pre-6ths, like was said you could outflank and assault, or infiltrate and assault if you had the perfect LOS blocking terrain.
Now, you cant do those things, but you gained a lot of power with the broodlord. Its a fair trade since all infiltrators lost those abilities.
As for fleet being a nerf, I am not so sure. I actually prefer the new fleet to the old considering the changes to assault distances, as even if you could run before if you assaulted a bad assault roll is game endings for stealers. WIth new fleet, you can instead reroll any of the bad dice and greatly mitigate terrible dice in ruining your charge.
A quick list I made was 2 flying dakka tyrants, 2x3 hive guard, 10 ymgarl, 5x8 stealers + 1 broodlord.

Whenever I have used Genestealers in 6th, the clear winner has been the Broodlord. More often than not, the genestealers get cut down early but if I can get the Broodlord into CC, then I can at least kill a group before being wiped out. I've had a Broodlord wipe the floor with a Chaos lord in Terminator armor as well as a Broodlord charge an entire mob of orcs and, thanks to iron arm, they mob couldn't even hurt it (T7 vs S3).
I've been meaning to try an MSU build of genestealers just to get as many Broodlords as possible.

There's another great use for genestealers in 6e - area denial.
Imagine you're taking 2nd turn, and your opponent has put some transports in a certain position. You can now infiltrate your 'stealers in their path, so that they can't advance without entering charge range. Your opponent now has to choose between going another route or facing a turn 1 assault from units that can easily glance it to death. If you have enough in your brood, you can even take advantage of this to wipe out the squad inside - remember that if a vehicle is wrecked while being completely surrounded, the occupants cannot disembark and are removed as casualties.
As for Broodlords, you're likely to get a useful Biomancy power from rolling twice on that table. Iron Arm, Endurance and Warp Speed are all great and Enfeeble is also useful at times. Telekinesis powers Gate of Infinity and Telekine Dome can also cause some surprises for your opponent.

Every time i see genestealers i get sad. ~75 genestealers, most painted, all sitting in a box.
Genestealers went from good to terrible. They still lack grenades so they cant assault into terrain well, they get overwatched to death, they are slower on average, they cant make use of the new ability to shoot and assault, and they outflank-assault anymore. Hell, i took down a full 10+ broodlord genestaler squad by letting them assault my DA and bladestorming/ punching them to death before they could strike (had the squad doom/guided, but forgot to shoot).
Ymargls arent much better. While they survive overwatch better, they are pretty predictable and still strike last into terrain. They are great vehicle hunters but expensive for that role and not optimal.
Waiting for a genestealer cult WD or a new nid codex before they come off the shelf.
