Raptors x10 (2 Melta, MoS, Icon of Excess, twin Ltn Claws, votlw 300
Bikes, 10 slaanesh mos ioe 2x melta, Tlclaw champ 325

What would you take? Is one better or are they just different roles? How would you change their loadouts?

(Im looking for something to bodyguard my sorc w/ murdersword)

Bikes are better. It's no contest really. T5 & better shooting. turbo-boosting means they get across the table just about as fast as Deep Striking. Raptors have better ability to maneuver over impassible terrain or other units, but otherwise the bikes are just faster, tougher, shootier, and fight just as well in HtH.

Just noticed that votlw is 2pts/model for raptors and only 1 for bikes. equal attacks with bp and ccw as stock. bikes can boost raptors can jump, bikes are 22pts/model vs 19 (mos)

Just trying to compare apples and apples.

bikes better, now what you can do with rapters is 5 of them DSing with 2 meltaguns and and a combi melta to kill a few tanks. Though something most people forget is that raptors cause fear.

Why murdersword to sorc? you already have a force weapon...
Why not nurgle bikes (yes they cost more but at T6, small arms life is cut from 1/3 wounds (5+) to 1/5... that is more survivable then a 5+ FNP from S4 and equal with S5. it only becomes slightly worse at S6

I had a feeling that general consensus was that ioe vs nurgle bikes is pretty even at 6 models and then >6 went to ioe and <6 was nurgle points wise. But ioe because i like the i5 and the fnp for my sorc/lord as well.

Bikes win at everything but monetary cost and models. They are a very good unit. Raptors aren't bad and can infiltrate using Huron, but bikes are just solid.

I also like a bike for HQs so that S8 cannot instant death you.

Can't infiltrate raptors, jump infantry is not the same as infantry. You can find cheap bikes, about 10usd per model so for 6 bikes the cost is the same as 10 rapters, if not cheaper. I forget rapter cost.

I would say Bikers all the way, since you also get the jink save as well.

Has that been officially cleared up? In the unit types section of the rulebook, it implies that Jump Infantry still count as Infantry.

i prefer raptors but thats because i have the 5th ed metal ones and they are pretty

This is incorrect. Jump Infantry are not their own type anymore, they are still Infantry. It's why JOTWW can now affect Wraiths.

Exactly. Jump Infantry count as infantry for all purposes in 6th. The Infiltrate warlord trait works fine on Raptors. They just can't charge in the first turn if you're going first.
