Anyone familiar with the Bastion model knows the kit comes with 4 ground walls, each of which has 1 fire point, but one of them has to be a door. The 2nd level has two walls each with 2 fire points and a Heavy Bolter slit and 2 walls each with no fire point and a Heavy Bolter slit. The third level is the top and considered a Battlement.

Is it a generally agreed that a Bastion should be strictly modeled as per example in the rule book (where the quad gun is on top and the Comms relay for some ridiculous reason is on the ground on the ground detach from the Bastion) or is it accepted that someone could model to win by buying a 2nd Bastion kit and have each wall on the 2nd floor have 2 Fire Points with Heavy Bolter slot.

What says you?

first time I assembled it, I ended up the fire point walls next to eachother then decided to model it like the box with them on opposite sides and then people kept borring it and as such decided to call the extra bits I put on the sides as also fire points also (the spot light thing I think) so mine apparently has 3 fire points on 3 sides and 2 fire points on the side with the door. The door is also not glued on as I can't decide which side of the door I like. Not sure if entirely legal but it just makes more sense for folks I guess instead of trying to figure out which side had what since I painted those spot light things dark and looks kind of like a hole in the wall. So far has not really affected game play at all so not sure if big deal.

We've placed the comm relay on the roof before. It's got a slot up there if you use the correct side of the top floor and not glue the piece to the box.

I think buying two kits to combine them is a bit gamey.

However I modeled my bastion with the two walls with fire points together, and the opposite walls without fire points have magnets so I can change which of those facings has the door.

It makes sense that fortresses are built to face the direction of the enemy. Castles didn't have arrow slits in the walls that faced into the courtyard.
