Now, before I start I want to make one thing perfectly clear. This is NOT just another Mat(t) Ward hate thread, this is merely an observation. I'm aware that all the Mat(t) Ward hate has slowly gone to the backburner, and frankly I'm glad. Let's be real here, he is just a schmuck who GW pay a more than likely minimum wage to write fluff and rules.

Anywhoo, my thinking about Mat(t) Ward is this, he has actually won thousands of new souls for his dark masters at GW HQ. And that is brilliant.
No, really, think about it. Think how many people now play Necrons, Grey Knights and Blood Angels. All those people, young and old, lining up to buy the newest shiniest piece of plastic crack that GW and Mat(t) Ward have created..... And that's the thing, he has actually done a very good job. Sure, we can rage and threaten to quit all things GW, but that does not change one irrefutable thing. That Mat(t) Ward has done everything, and more, that GW have asked of him.
Sure, he effectively smashed WHFB into a million pieces, leading to an enforced hard reset in 8th Edition, and pretty much broke Lord Of The Rings by allowing the Mumak into an army that already had more than its fair share of cheese. But it seems GW are mightily pleased with the work of Mat(t).....

So that's my train of thought on Mat(t). A silly neckbeard who train-rapes accepted canon and, if left unsupervised, breaks entire game systems with ludicrous army lists and units. But, a silly neckbeard who has done a pretty good job for his overlords. So he ain't all bad......

To be fair... Have you seen his beard? Neckbeard doesn't go far enough, to describe the sheer tasteless and vulgar image of that man's beard.

Jeremy Vetock has really impressed me with the DA Codex.

We need Ward to write rules
Vetlock to write codices
ADB, McNeil, and Abnett to write fluff

And somebody (anybody) to playtest and proofread.

We really don't need this thread...
