Well at base cost the Ravenwing command Squad is 6 points cheaper (2 per model). & they have the options of apothecary and standard bearer and open the option for one black knight in the army to be upgraded to the ravenwing company champion.

So, they're more worth it I think cos of those options, you can put that company champion in a squad of black knights elsewhere from the wording of it (note the Deathwing wording was changed in the errata to match this so, pretty sure it's legal & legit). Allowing for a sergeant + champion in a squad you expect to fight in combat for example.

Only down side is the command squad is only 3 men, so have to be played smart as they lack numbers in themselves. Personally I wouldn't only field one or the other, I'd take both I think.

The 3 man limit makes them uncompetitive. Once you add an apothecary and champion and standard of devastation, you are looking at almost 75 points per model, with no ablative wounds and a giant bullseye painted on them. Oh well

-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake.
