Normally I stick to the
Misc Miniatures Game subforum, but I figured I'd branch out and try to get some interest in reviewing and playtesting my skirmish game called Dinosaur Cowboys.
Players build a posse of 2-5 human cowboys and up to 1 dinosaur, then duke it out on the tabletop. The core mechanics use twelve sided dice and various statistics to describe each character. There are over seventy weapons to equip your posse with, including laser pistols, plasma shotguns, gatling guns, etc. Games normally take 60-90 minutes at first, but once you are more comfortable with the rules it's easy to get a game done in 30-60 minutes.
I've just added a bunch of rules for special deployments, objectives, and features, as well as ongoing campaigns complete with post-battle injury tables, gaining improvement points and money, etc. Those could use the most playtesting!
Anyway if this sounds interesting to anyone I have a complete playtesting PDF that has everything you need to get started (well, besides the figures and all, but I'm sure you have plenty of those

). I've included eight prebuilt posses so you can just choose a gang, lay out some terrain, and start playing!
For more details see this
Playtesting Information post. If you want to get right to the good stuff, here is a direct link to the
free PDF rulebook (including sample posses).
My hope is that people will read through the rulebook and see if anything is confusing, messy, or just downright offensive to them
And if you have the time and interest, actually sitting down and playing through a game with a friend would be perfect. If you want an idea of how the game plays I've recorded
numerous battle reports in the past, some of which are extremely detailed and show all the underlying mechanics.
Looking forward to hearing what people think!
