I am new to the 40K world. I play CSM and I have never fought a real battle, but I have had sort of normal points battles, without objectives and all that, you know, to learn how to play. Well, I will mostly be playing Necrons because a friend does them, so I was wondering if you know any tactics against them. He normally plays, Vargard Obyron, sometimes Nemmesor, a Triarch Stalker, a Doomsday Ark, maybe a deathmark or 2, or a immortals unit. For troops he uses warriors, and if he transports them, he uses night scythe. He might have scarabs. So forum, any help in beating him?

For chaos, use plague marines for your troops, and grab yourself some Heldrakes and some Autocannon Havoks.

The plague marines should hopefully let you turn it into an attrition game; knocking out his vehicles with the Heldrakes and Havoks, then grinding him down against your PMs whilst the aforementioned support units pummel them with fire.

Knock out his fliers, and your Heldrake should be eating immortals like m&ms.

That's kind of funny ,because I think I see what you mean, but I have Khorne berzerkers, a lord MoK, a maulerfiend, a helbrute, a havocs with lascannon, maybe daemon prince, a vindicator. I thought the heldrake was better with baleflamer.

I was already going to get a heldrake, so if they're good.....

I play csm. If you rock Kharne with 9 zerkers in a land raider they can pop vehicles and get his shooty warriors into combat. Combine that with a demon prince and hes going to fear your cc. Next, having two defilers in the back with a predator will do work.

For troops you have your berzerkers in a rollung land raider fortress and some mark of khorne cultists are a good way to live. The land raider is nice for shooting fliers with its twin linked las cannons and the twin linked reaper auto cannons will help immensely too.

A Necron flying circus will down the Helldrake before it can do some damage. Hands down.

I roll either 2x defilers or a defiler and forgefiend.
With the Land Raider and a few rhinos

Works pretty well, pie plates FTW

His list and what he plans on getting, is sort of a jack of all trades. He will have some flyers, some good shooting, some good close combat. I think for his court, he will use crypteks.
