So I have a pretty typical Battle Sisters list that I've been using for awhile now, and have (as I know many Sisters players can attest) noticed various holes and gaps in our magazine-codex. With that in mind I remembered some assorted SW HQ's and Grey Hunters and other odds and ends I've accumulated over time and was curious if they would patch any holes in the Sisters lines well?

Has anyone tried using Drop Podding GH's to reinforce areas the Sisters can't handle? Adding plasma fire or Long Fangs? TWC for some nice melee ability?

Anyone who can comment/offer feedback or experiences with these two as allies, id love to hear about it!

Thanks!

TWC are cool and fun to play, albiet both expensive literally and 50+ points each. Look at Fenrisian wolves at 8pts each for some mobile cheap fast attack.
Drop Podding GH is a sound tactic. GH have enormous staying power above squads of 7. The basic Space Wolves pack kit is gorgeous and comes with plenty of bits to make your sisters more bar-barbaric amazons.

I had thought the TWC would be a great addition to a Sisters army, giving them some strong melee, great Invulerable Save fighters to act as either a Counter Attack or Seek and Destroy unit.

Anyone else use these two armies together with great results?
Thanks!

IG are the best ally for Sisters in my opinion. Look into that angle.

One of the things that Sisters of Battle really will fear now is that dang Heldrake. If you dont figure out a good answer for that it could be a really bad day at the office and you WILL see dual Heldrake lists at tourney.

I would say that Battle sisters wouldn't go very well along wolves fluff wise
A Rune priest ? BURN THE WITCH !
Guys hanging around with weird talismans ? BURN THE WITCH !
Thunderwolf Cavalry ? BURN THE ABOMINATION !
Mark of the Wulfen ? BURN THE MUTANT !

More seriously, everything goes well with Space Wolves efficiency-wise, they have good to great HQ, (probably) best Troops in the game, (probably) best Heavy support in the game

But it's true that you will lack any serious anti-air with this alliance, you might be better off with Grey Knights including a Stormraven / Rifledread (for air / AA) and some truly Inquisition sanctionned psykers

The ideia CAN work in rules, but instead of "Space Wolves" allies, count them as Ordo Xenos Deathwatch killteams.

You can easily field one fo the better troops in the game (x2) with plasma guns and PW + cheap Missile Launcher devastators, all with a fluff flavor of "deathwatch reinforcements".

But i still think Grey Knights would look a lot more cool in your army (CC and Flyers). Hm, that is a great ideia indeed... Its a shame Sisters have plastic kits :/

I think guard fit the needs of a sisters army a bit better and have some nice synergy. Cannoness makes the platoon fearless with a bunch of hidden power axes and cheap grenades they can take down a lot of dangerous melee threats or at least whittle them down to the point where you can shoot them away.

Guard have the excellent anti-aircraft abilty the Sisters need. They also have the Psyker help, and they have some troops that will fill in nicely if you're hell bent on having 4 in n army, although in a Sisters army, 3 is often enough.

Sisters as allies is never a bad idea. they bring something to the table for sure as allies.

I really do like that SW/SoB list you posted! Tons of firepower!

Do you, or anyone have any thoughts on Sisters as the main contingent with Wolves to back them up?
Are Wolves just not a good fit for this? Id love to have Guard or GK's, but I don't have any. Would another Space Marine Chapter be a better ally? Like Dark Angels? I know they're newer, do they bring anything to the Sister's table?
It amused me to realize that most of the chapters I'm looking at are a little deviant or have secrets they wouldnt want known haha

Any ideas? Lol

Thanks for the replies!

Guard are generally better, but for wolves, I would do the opposite.

Celestine
Jacobus or Kyrinov

Seraphim
1-2 Doms
2 Exos
Rets
Bastion
Long Fangs
Rune Priest
1-2 Grey Hunters
Lone Wolf or TWC

That's so funny, with th exception of the TWC, you listed off what I actually HAVE to field haha! Nice mind reading Pretre!

Seems like a ton of reliable fire power and some melee that isn't complete armed with Eviscerators (though I do love the Repentias, especially with their Act of Faith).

Its a nice image of Sisters holding the line while the TWC go charging out...

I appreciate all the thoughts/comments/feedback!
I'm really trying to get to a point where I get use out of the squads/armies I've accumulated over the years and thought, with these new Allies rules, it really does make it easy to get the most out of stalled-starts and half finished armies.

So, thanks again!

@Pretre
Hey! I'm looking to revise my approach to the Sisters/Wolves thought, and was thinking about trying both ways, Wolves with Sister allies as you recommended and the second list with Sisters as the primary.
I saw you put a Wolf Priest in, which I think is awesome, and I know SotH gives Outflanking. I was curious where you intended him to go, with the GH's or even the LF's?

Just wondering! Lol thanks!
