I'm just starting to get into oil washing after watching various tutorials on the process.

I picked up some paints and a bottle of mineral spirits (not realizing there is an odorless version ). The normal mineral spirits are BRUTAL, the fumes are really a problem in my small apartment.

I know I can get odorless mineral spirits, but I was actually more interested in alternatives. Has anyone had experience using rubbing alcohol? I have also been reading up on alternative thinners and walnut oil keeps coming up.

Would either of these be a suitable medium to make an oil wash and subsequently clean the excess off of a model?

Thanks in advance.
