So I'm getting my Ork army up and running again. The big challenge for me is what to run in my wagons. I want to go full mech so no agies lines or grots manning Quad guns etc. Just Battle Wagons and Wartrukks. So the big question is what to run in my wagons.
I have 3 empty Battle Wagons and 315pts to spend on passageners. Right now the list can deal will Infantry well enough so I feel I need some Anti-Tank and Flyer Punch. I could run 3 squads or 7 Tank bustas or 3 squads of 7 Lootas or a bit of mixture of the two. I find the Tank Busters to be better when moving which the Battle Wagons will be doing a lot and better at Assaulting Vehicles as well. The lootas will be forced to Snap Fire the whole time but if I get lucky with my amount of shots they might be better off.
what does dakka think would be the best to run in the Wagons?
P.S. The wagons do have Deff Rolla's so I can HP Vehicles to death with them if need be.

I am curious about the rest of the units in your list and the point cost of the army. I would say either 3 Loota Mobs or 2 with Lootas and 1 with Tankbustas. There are just so much more that Lootas can be used against effectively. Tankbustas can be good, but out of 7 you are only going to hit twice.

Heres the list. I have 3 squads of Tank Bustas in at the moment. I know there is no Big Mek with KFF but the idea is to rush in anyways so most things will out of the Vehicles by turn 2 & hopefully in Combat as well. The Boarding planks are there if I need to de-mech my opponent first.
The Battle Wagons don't need to move as fast as the rest of the army they can lay down a bit of fire support on the way in but I would like to keep them just behind if they to support the rest of the army.
I did also consider dropping the Mega boss and MANZ for a KFF Big Mek and 6th squad of Trukk Boyz this would give a little bit more points but if I did this I'd run the Wagons up front and use them as moving cover for my Trukks and strike hard either turn 2 or 3. All in either I will get tabled or they will.

Love the list so far. How about dropping all the red paint to have the tankbusters become burner squads with 3 x rockets each? The 4 flamers for anti assault and 3 meks for repairs in each would keep those battle wagons rolling pretty good. Edit: Actually the custom mega blaster the meks come with has AP2, so they are better than the rockets. Then I would still get rid of the red paint for an extra burner boy in each squad.

Last night my buddy brought 10 lootas in his BW.
I was able to isolate and kill his other lootas with my helldrakes and necron lord on CCB, but I could not touch the ones in the battlewagon.

This is the version I have of the list thats lead by the Big Mek with KFF. Its 2 points over but if I did drop all the Red Paint Jobs I have an extra 43pts left over to spend on some more lootas. The only problem I have with the Lootas is that I'll be moving the entire time so they will have no choice but to snap fire the whole game. In saying that if I'm shooting flyers I have to snap fire anyways.
I could instead of running more lootas put some Meks in with them to repair Hull Points on the Wagons. I have also considered running 3x Burna Boy squads with 3x Meks in each with KMB's to cruise around and restore HP's and torch guys on the ground. With those Meks and the Big Mek it would give me 10x Meks in the list which be very abusive of HP restoration.
Basicly I'm happy with the way both lists look I'm just not 100% on the passengers for the Battle Wagons.

putting a deffrolla on the shooty platform BWs? i always felt like that was a waste because anything stupid enough to come close enough to want to charge it the deffrolla wouldnt do much against anyway since you get your saves against it. I'd rather hightail it the other way shootin snaps at the damn thing chasing me.

With new Snap Fire rules its not too bad to have pleanty of guns on a Deffrolla Wagon. If you run a Wagon with a Rolla, 4x Big Shootas, A Boarding Plank, sonmething in sude with lots of shooty stuff and a klaw you can actually attack a few different units.
The Rolla can roll 1 or more units upto 13" with read paint jobs.
The big shootas can then snap fire 12 shots at another unit.
The Passengers can then Snap Fire at another targert
Then the Klaw can make attacks to a vehicle within 2" and the FAQ says that this unit does not have to be the same as the target that the passengers shot at.
This give you 4+ units you can inflict damage on in a turn depending on how many squads are hit with the Deff rolla.
If your opponent is silly enough to charge the wagon. Snap fire out of the top. And if your opponent is silly enough not to move out of the way of your boarding plank you can attack them again in their assault phase.
