Ive found this fab little site: http://www.wargamesbakery.co.uk/

they have loads of ranges, and sell small 3 pack sets and larger sets in random packs from lots of 14 or 15 bases (ive never had a duplicate so far in any random pack either)

they are selling to the UK only tho at the moment - which is a shame for the ROW but brill for us britties.

heres some of the ones i have so far.

Theyve become good pals of mine - and so I thought you would like them too

Love em! The whole 'UK' only thing is a bit of a downer.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Try looking at some of the Secret weapon stuff. http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=79_33&zenid=37ed6b43a46d102982dc83a2a57a1922
I beleive that they are U.S. based and they sell their stuff at retailers as well as online.

With that said, I shall back away slowly and ominously and disappear in a puff of smoke, then smuggle some fruit across the border in order to stay competitive with the veggie cartel.

Look very nice, chemical one looks fantastic. could be poured with colored water effect for a great result, imo.
unfortunately I don't want to use resin bases (the flat bottom is less firm on a rough tabletop, plus they're more fragile than plastic ones). what I would like are resin inserts for "lipped" bases. Wyrd makes some very nice-looking ones but I believe they're metal.

Those bases look fantastic. They need to get their butts in gear and start selling the stuff over on this side of the pond.

30 mm ones are not too expensive, but the bigger ones get spendy fast.

Dunno, Doing your own bases is usually pretty easy, especially wooden planks, cobblestone or rubble.

I do like the how the sewer one is set up for water effects, though. And secret weapon had some hollow ones for water effects as well.

I love the "no gore" pledge to make gaming family friendly right under the soldier-stripper picture.

They're actually quite sturdy. It's a hunk of resin, it's not going to snap under less pressure than a plastic one

really? I'm sincerely asking. never used any, really. the only ones I've got are the ones that come with new Alkemy models (Studio38 ones) and I've replaced them pronto with plastc ones. I'm not concerned about snap, but I "feel" they could chip easily. plus remains the flat bottom, that is a bit less firm on tabletop surfaces (just to be honest, Studio38 25mm ones aren't. they'r hollow in similar way as plastic ones. 40mm are flat, though).

I accidentally dropped my secret weapon ones a few times and they didn't chip or break or dent. You shouldn't be exposing your models to enough trauma to damage the base, otherwise the model is likely to be ruined as well. Plastic bases slide on hills (I assume that's what you're referring to), the larger surface area of the resin bases should help increase the friction, but it varies depending on your gaming surface and the angle. My assault marines fall over and slide down hills all the time and they're on those cheap plastic bases.

My 100+pts of Khador are now all on resin bases and they are just fine, no issues with models sliding or falling over.

Only word of caution like with all resins. Be careful drilling and sanding them as resin dust is toxic.
