Harlequins have stealth and shrouded, witch give them a +4 cover save in the open. Would they benefit from the extra cover saves from Invisibility?

thx for the reply!

Invisibility gives Shrouded and Stealth, so you wouldn't improve your cover save no

Pgs 32 (special rules) and 41 (stealth / shrouded) of the rulebook has your answer (hint: it's no).

The part about Fighting them at WS1 and losing counter attack *could* benefit them but honestly Harliequins rarely need the help crushing things in CC.

Now Conceal on the other hand, ISNT stealth or shrouded, so they can stack ontop of that. That means that anything with a warlock in (ie; Warlock squads, Wraithguard or even Guardian squads) can have a 2+ coversave in the open.

Invisibility on wraithguard + conceal = a 2+ cover save.
Harlequins behind those wraithguard = stealth, shrouded + a 5+ cover save for being shot through another unit. So thats how they can have a 2+ cover save.

okey, thx!

I would like a wraithwall with +2, and some harlequins behind them. But It seems difficult to make a solid list around all those points.

10 wraithguard as troops are a solid choice (IMO) to start an army. Really resilient - Stick 5 harlequins behind them with a shadow seer. The harlies are only there to make people think twice about assaulting the wraithguard. With a bit of luck, target prioritising would mean they took less shooting - 10 wraithguard being MUCH harder to kill.

I agree, and I am playing this for the moment: (I would love 5 harlies behind my wall, but I would not know what to drop.

I'd look at dropping a guardian squad to fit them in. But in that list, I'd first be making room to take crack shot on the fire dragon exarch - I assume the fire dragons are on the adl?

That'd make the adl ignore cover, bs5, tank hunters.
So hit on a 2+, with re-rolls to hit, and re-rolls to armour pen with no cover saves allowed.

The fire dragons are on the adl, and I just played 6 games with crack shot. Thx for the tip!

Atm I am trying to find a unit that will give me that little extra.
I have tested:

3xjetbikes for a late scoring unit, they are fragile but now and then they will score.

Swooping hawks was also great as linebreakers/AT and to negate my enemy some victorypoints by dropping down on them in the last round.

Striking scorpions was okey with outflank. They could also negate my eneny from capturering those last victory points.

Well, Harlies in cover have a 2+ cover save. That's funny: They stand 1'' away from an enemy unit in cover and get a decent save: ''shoot me but you can't kill me''.

Essentially they already have invisibility. Thats what the Veil of Tears does now. So yeah, if someone was standing in front of you and they were invisible, you probably would have problems seeing them unless you could see something (dust, footprints, noise) that would make them easier to see. In a forest this would be much harder to find them as there is less to contrast with and more places to close the gap.

They seem great, because of the +2 cover save, but I have not tryed them enough.

The only experience I got is that you really need to plan accordingly to make them point efficent.

Last battle they soaked fire with there cover save, and destroyed a cheaper unit, but got teared to pieces afterwards.
