Do you know if this works with any other base color?

grey for example?

@ Icculus - Im not sure that grey would work too well due to the white basecoating becoming the highlights on the model, grey would make the skin a tad darker overall if you did try.

If you apply the black wash first AND then apply the green, the green doesnt get so muted.

@ Kaiser- interesting idea and i do see how you could get a more vibrant green out of washes, although for my orks i wanted a realistic muted green for the skin.

Very cool, I like how it's more muted. I do the same thing but start with a yellow base for super comic book orks (2 washes of Thrakka, no black).
