Hey guys I got a stormtalon today and was wondering what to arm it with. I was thinking lascannons and typhoon missles. I mainly fight wolves so I thought this would tear up some of my buddy's units. What do you think?

If you want more AP 2 and 3,give it a go.But do give the skyhammer missiles a thought,they may be S 7 AP 4 but you get 3 shots with them.

You can get only lascannons or typhoons, not both. In general I would recommend the typhoons, as they are the best anti-air upgrade for the stormtallon. As for dealing with space wolves, what does your friend usually run? If he runs lots of thunderwolvs with stormshields, go skyhammer to pile on wounds. If the wolves are in rhinos or on foot, go typhoon.

I take the heavy bolters to keep them cheap (they're already kind of expensive for a 2 HP vehicle). Front-arc-only weapons on a flyer only get 2 or 3 shots per game anyway, so it feels to me like a waste of points. Use the heavy bolters to increase your anti-infantry firepower when you happen to be facing that way, but the assault cannon is really the storm talon's main gun because of the turret.

If you want to shoot down enemy flyers with them, the trick is to fly past the enemy, and shoot it in the AR10 rear armor with your assault cannon. That way the other flyer gets no return fire on you the following turn unless it also has a turret.
