About to finish off a 3 month long campaign tournament (currently sitting in the lead wooot) and looking to return to some matches using some more experimental/interesting setups. One of them which I want to try out is :

10 man sniper scout squad /w ML and camo + Prescience from a resident librarian (who usually is sitting with ML dev squads anyways).

Has anyone tried this? The idea of circumventing the scouts main downside (BS3) seems rather attractive and potentially a large hindrance/annoyance to flying MCs and special characters in blobs.

I haven't used BA scouts in a long time. I like to roll up powers before I determine what my libby is going to do. Even still, if there's something I want to cast prescience for, it's usually attack bike MM.

Probably not worth it overall.

Your 9 shots which would have averaged 4-5 hits becomes about 7 hits instead. Sure you may get some precision strikes, but it's still not worth it IMHO.

I've tried this, and it worked pretty well - but I would only recommend it in very small point games (750-1000), where saving some points by using scouts and a non-jp libby can free up points for big guns.

Even then, the prescience is better used on Devs, for rerolling scatter dice or krak missiles, or on a auto/las predator. Or on MM attack bikes.
