For a list I was trying on for size, I was throwing in a Reclusiarch with a little wing of Death Company, and I have 30 points to spend.

If he's gonna be with a bunch of Death Company, is it worth it to even think about bothering with termie armour, even if just for durability in challenges if the enemy doesn't carry an AP2 weapon? I kinda feel like this is a given and those points could be better spent, but please lemme know if you have a different opinion. I have a good feeling of what else to do with those points, this thought is just nagging at me

I would much rather give the DC another fist or couple of powerweapons for that. The only time termie armour would be better is if you're expecting a LOT of low AP fire such as guard or orks. Otherwise, FNP should be enough.

Yeah, I figured that was the case. Thanks, I'll put that into consideration. Also, considering the Reclusiarch comes with a free Crozius, shall I retain it? Those weapons are better than I gave them credit for this edition, but lemme know your thoughts. But regular power weapons on the DC is definitely a good alternative investment when considering how many attacks they'll have with them.

First off, I think having a single model in terminator armor means you can't sweeping advance - so that's bad.

Second, you can't get rid of the Crozius - it's the sacred weapon of his position. You can replace his bolt pistol with a power fist if you want, though. I would say no, because the only thing the reclusiarch should be scared of is a challenge from 3+/2+ save character with a power weapon (that's not AP4). If you're going up against that, just decline the challenge and let the DC with rerolls mop up everybody.

Ahh, yeah, my bad, hadn't remembered that fact about replacing the crozius. Yeah, and that's what I was planning to do if he got challenged

He's also I5 so in a pinch you can accept depending on whether or not you think you'll kill the character.
