Hello everyone, welcome to my blog!

My name is Andrew and i'm an 18 year old student. I've been painting warhammer 40k for the past year and a half, but i've had no real projects to work on recently, as i got bored with painting space marines, and didn't really value any of the other armies in 40k. But when the Warriors of Chaos release came out, i was hooked. I started looking at the fantasy range of models and settled with Warriors of Chaos. I have all the inexperiance that comes with starting a new game system, but i do really like the models. In this blog, I will record my progress from start to finish-if one can have a truely 'finished' army.

For my army, I have no real 'alliance' with any particular chaos god. I'm going to paint the models in a god-specific colour scheme on unit by unit basis, hopefully leaving me with an army of many units alligned with different gods. I'm also really attracted to the large models, like the slaughterbrute and warshrine - expect a few centre-piece models to be in my army.

Without further ado, my first offering to the dark gods:

This is the champion of a regiment of warriors, who are alligned with Khorne. I chose this unit to have 2 hand weapons, because of their alliance with khorne, it made sense for them to be really killy. I really enjoyed painting him, especially the cloak. Cloaks are things i've really wanted to learn to paint properly, but they rarely appear on space marines, so I never really got around to painting them all that much. I really like how the sword came out - the obsidian black/silver, blended into a darkish silver at the top looks really great in person.

That's it for the first post, all comments and questions welcomed.
...Untill next time,
Zambro

I do like the cloak

I spent around 20-30 minutes painting it in my mind, trying to workout which colours would make it look great. I ended up going with a red/brown mix.

As for whats next... I'm going to continue with this warriors of chaos regiment. Hopefully the next update will be of the command guys - Musician, banner and, this guy, the champ.
...Maybe i'm getting ahead of myself, but i see a chaos lord in the near future...

Hi guys, update time

I've been working hard these past few days, and i've finished the front rank of my warrior regiment.
It was a little overcast this morning, when i took the pics, so i took some with a flash - they came out bad

My Musician:

The pics with flash (if your interested in my poor photography skills )
Spoiler:

And the standard Bearer:

And again, the flash picks - because some areas on the standard bearer are hard to see. It standard blocks some of the light, but the flash lets you see those details.
Spoiler:

And now the front rank:

Well, thats what i've been painting for the past few days.
I tested out a varnish on the normal warrior in the front rank. It frosted :( Thats why he looks bad.

I have done a trade with 'TheFatElf' over the weekend too. I have 5 Marauder Horsemen and 10 warhounds coming to me in the next few days

As always, comments and questions welcome

Hi everyone.

Been a little while since i last updated. I haven't really done all that much - got a mountain of university work.

On with the models:

I'm still wading my way through the Warriors, these are my recent 2

and a group shot of the warriors so far:

Spoiler:

These are the final 6 - primed and waiting

I also got the new Chaos Lord. Will most likey start painting him over the next few days - he looks so awesome!

Like i said before, a successful trade with TheFatElf gained me these:

Whats next for me?
Well, i'm going to pick up some Fairy Powerspray tomorrow - then i'll strip the warhounds and horsemen. Also i'll be continuing on with the warriors, and might even make a start on the lord...

Comments and questions welcome, as always

Hi all, i'm still here

I finished all 12 of the warriors some time last week. Here is a complete shot:

You can see them all here in the P&M showcase forum.

I'm working on the chaos lord and a horseman at the minute. The Lord only has his cape done, and i'm struggling with horseman. I've never painted a horse before, so i'm kind of making it up as i go along.

I'll check back when they are finished

Hello everyone

Here is my finished lord!

...man i like how the skulls on his base came out

I've toned down the amount of painting i do recently. I think its easier to paint when your inspired and not forcing it, and recently i've been forcing it.
I only finished this fella because last night i got 'the bug' to paint him.

Anyway, i'll check back soon with any updates i have

Hi guys - its been a while...

Sorry for the delay, but i really couldn't bring myself to paint those warhounds. I think they look ulgy, but alas, I am over half way.

Here are the first 5:

They were done really quickly, using an airbrush. Dark brown all over, mid brown from a 45degree angle, then light brown top down. Followed by washes and the occasional piece of detail. The other 5 are just awaiting their details. I glad i only have 10 of these in my list

I'm in the market for a Tzeentch Sorcerer lord, and there are a few on the GW page. Anyone willing to suggest which model to use?
