first of i never played warmachine/hordes but i like the minis a lot.
Before i get any minis i want to build a list that makes sense to play. I´m not the testing guy =/
Here is my first list with the help of google and comparing some other lists:

Not a bad list at all.

WIthershadow Combine and Malice are just plane nasty together.

WM/H is about synergy and having your models work together and get stronger because of the interactions.

Now that being said. I would highly recommend picking up the Battle Box first. Get a good amount of games in with it and than work towards 35 and 50 pts.

The biggest thing is that you need to get used to how to work with what you have, how to make things work together. Order of activation, when to pop your feat, ect....
