Subject: Coteaz vs. Ordo Malleus

So here is the question, when taking a GK allied contingent do you take Coteaz or an Ordo Malleus Inq?
Coteaz is 100 points and you get a 2+ AS, Hammer, Stubborn, 2 Divination Powers, "I have been expecting you", and reroll seizes
Ordo Malleus in Termie Armour is 110 points for 2+ AS, 5++, Psycannon, Hammer, 1 Divination Power, Stubborn, access to servo skulls.
(for this argument I don't take henchman)
Points wise they are pretty much the same, same stats, and both provide stubborn. When allying with GK I would always take strike squads which provide warp quake for DS protection. So how often would "I have been expecting you" actually come into play?
Looking at both I basically see either an extra psycannon (Inq term) or an extra divination power (coteaz). For me I would rather have the extra relentless psycannon but a lot of people are telling me coteaz is better.
thoughts?

IHBEY is great in lists that have very little in the form of counter assault. There's less reason to worry about deep strikers because you can either force them to land somewhere away from Coteaz, or shoot them as they land. I know you said "ignore henchmen" but, cheap scoring unit that's BS3, so will actually benefit from divination powers, is fantastic. Remember, not battle brothers, so he cant' buff anyone other than the GK. Or a cheap counter assault unit with DCAs. Henchmen are pretty sweet. Also, servo skulls won't affect your allies, so that's not really a useful argument. Out of curiosity, who are they allies for?

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I suppose some context
D. Lord
weave, mss, orb
10 gaussmortals w/ NS x2
3 A. Barges
ADL /w comms
InQ term w/ psycannon, hammer, divination
10 Strikes w/ 2 psycannon x2
DreadKnight w/ Heavy Inc and Sword
I guess with 20 strikes putting up warp quake is IHBEY really going to be relevant?
So in the above list I think the extra psycannon outweighs the extra divination power, no?

I agree it does out weigh the extra div power, plus gives the inq the flexibility to DS with a strike squad if needed. And to top it off, those servo skulls are pretty useful with the abundance of Ravenwing armies about now, pinning the whole army in it's deployment zone will help a lot. I feel like you can do better with the HQ for your necron portion. I also feel like you immortals will be your primary anti-infantry unit, since the Strikes have psycannons. If that is so, wouldn't they be better off with Telsa? Anyways to find points for dreadknight personal teleporter?

I love my psycannons, and put as many on the field as I possibly can. I therefore almost always include an OMI in TDA with the psycannon, rolling Divination. I've hooked him up to a squad of Paladins, Termies, and even a Purgation squad (that was just evil), and watched the fireworks fly.

With coteaz, you can not only re-roll to take first turn from the enemy, but you can force the enemy to re-roll if they take it away from you.
if you have an army that wants to go first and deploy very aggressively (lots of units in the open, ready to shoot or move forward) Then taking coteaz mitigates one of the biggest risks. You can go first, deploy however you like, and be sure that you will go first 35 out of 36 times.
the other thing to consider is that Terminator armor has a few drawbacks as well. you can't get in a transport (usually not important). Also, you can't sweeping advance (kind of important).
other than that it is basically comparing a Psycannon to a Random Divination spell.

I've tried both (I use GK allies sometimes for my necrons as well) and coteaz is superior to the vanilla inq lord by far. For necrons at least, your GK allies allow you to bubble wrap your units from DSing alpha strikes and coteaz supports that role much better. His special rules give him the edge in my humble opinion and I find superior overall to boot. My favorite time with coteaz is to get prescience and whatever the divination power that denies cover saves, then putting him on a quad gun. It's beyond helpful to deny saves to flyers and vaping annoying units like scouts in cover.
