As the title says I'm looking for a Samurai era Japan game. Can someone point me in the rite direction. Also if you know of any sight that has 25mm samurai models I'm looking to put together a Nippon display for fantasy.

You got your usual generic systems like WAB, Clash of Empires, DBA, War and Conquest, etc

Then theres a few specific ones. I think the Samurai Battles from Zvezda is like that

On the slightly more fantasy side is Kensei

Not too familiar with 25mm ranges except for Old Glory. They got a good samurai collection

Dixon Miniatures have an extensive 25mm range.

If you want a game, are you looking for a skirmish game or a full on battle game?

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Do you want to play gunpowder or pre-gunpowder samurai?

If you don't mind slightly larger miniatures, the Perry Brothers have a nice 28mm Samurai range.

As mentioned before Dixon as a large 28mm range that includes a fantasy element. I like their figures but they are stylized similar to historical Japanese prints.

For early period Japanese, before the Age of War, I like The Assault Group miniatures. These are some really nice figures.

For later period Japanese Perry Miniatures are the best.

I believe you can play Field of Glory for large battles

Field of Glory covers large battles and there is a Renaissance version of the rules that will probably cover Sengoku Jidai (gunpowder era) battles.

If you want something more specifically Japanese, there are several sets in the Free Wargames Rules site that would be wortha look.

Try Killer Katanas, I think it is on it's second edition now. It has a supplement for Korea if you want some diversity.

There's a few conversions of SAGA for samurai too, look on their forums under the laboratory.

Four scholars at Oxford were making their way down the street, and happened to see a group of ladies of the evening. “What’s this?” said the first. “A jam of tarts?” “Nay,” said the second, “an essay of Trollope’s.” “Rather, a flourish of strumpets,” advanced the third. “No, gentlemen,” concluded the last. “Here we have an anthology of pros.”

Though seeing the guy wants 25 (or 28) mm models, he'll have a bunch of 1/72s if he gets the whole box set
