Just looking for a bit of clarification concerning casting of spells.

Right then, i know if i try to target a model with a spell which has the "pistol" symbol then i am subject to the cover/shooting into melee, modifiers.

But i'm looking at the spells without the  "pistol" symbol.

Can I cast a spell (that doesnt have the "pistol" symbol) in to and out of engaged combat?.

Thanks in advance!

I was under the impression that the "combat" was just a range models had and that you could move out of it... so could this logic be extended to casting to models in a general vicinity of another model?

My 2 cents would say yes, but I ain't no expert.

You can cast any spell as long as it doesn't have the "gun" icon which signifies it as a ranged attack.
