Hi guys
Yesterday, I bought a pot of vallejo model colour yellow ochre at my FLGS. I shook it, and took some out of the bottle to paint, but the paint's consistency was very runny. It was as if half the bottle was full of water. I also have a pot of black, which works perfectly.
Is there anything I can do to fix this, or have I been sold a dud? Please help, as I thought these were a better alternative to the GW paints which I used to use.
Thank you for your help

Shaking a pot of paint is different from a bottle dropper. With a bottle dropper, you need to roll it vigorously instead of a shake.

well I've never had trouble just shaking it, maybe call up vallejo if they have a cust. serv. number and ask them?

I always put a small bead in the bottle to help mix.

Thanks mate
Yeah, I think I wasn't shaking it nearly enough; I see what they mean by 'shake well' on the bottle

Yup shake shake, bang the top against something, shake some more.
Also can stick a long paper clip into the bottle and stir. It's also useful if the nozzle gets clogged up.

The vallejo paint need to be rolled, as Deunstephe mentioned. If you shake them you will get the running, bubbly output initially. Check out Les' video on mixing paint - I have actually started using the power drill and it works great! http://youtu.be/N0aaFxDc-IY

I used to have problems with their matt black paint that was very runny and dried with a gloss finish. However I solved the issue by opening the bottle (lifting of the eyedropper) and stirring the paint.
Otherwise I usually shake my vallejo paints from side to side, holding the lid as I shake, and it seems to work nicely.
