Subject: Tyranid Prime + Carnifex Brood + Regen (Gasp!) + Endurance = Survival?

Just a thought on using a Prime with regen in a unit of Carnifex (2 I'd guess) and taking regen on them, then using a psycher unit to cast Endurance on them.
This would be a big firemagnet unit that can hopefully LoS some nasty wounds away if you're cagey with movement and keep the Fexes equidistant to the Prime (I think you randomize for LoS if there are 2 models the same distance, or am I just crazy?)
Spatter some cover over them (gargoyls?) and use FNP to deflect the worst of the worst.
Then with all of them having regen and IWND you have a shot of restoring those wounds up.
Does this have any merit?
I am trying to devise a way to use a Carnifex brood but just can't justify 160 pts for a 4 wound model :(

You can use LoS rule with any model within 6". Not just the closest. Only the closest takes the hit. So if the prime is in the front, you can LoS all you want until both Fexes are dead. Welcome to the new 6th edition Ork Biker meta hehehehehe

Saythings: Sorry, not anymore. You should check the core rulebook FAQ, found here: https://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2940039a_40K_RULEBOOK_v1.2_JANUARY13.pdf
In particular, read the Errata pertaining to page 26.

Well... my FLGS manager just wound-allocated his way to a free win by not reading that FAQ!!! Lmao. He had a 800+ point Deathstar of Ork Bikers with a Forgeworld Biker Boss (don't remember actual name) but he was allocating all his wounds on all his boyz all night! Lmao. The IG player he was playing against only managed to kill 1 boy before he reached assault range of his blobs. The IG player shot 3 Large Blasts from Manticores, 9 Lascannons, and over 100 Lasguns into this Biker Squad moving Flat Out with Exhaust Fumes and wounded 2 and killed 1. LMAO.. gg no re.

I suggest just bringing along a binder of the FAQs and using it like a supplemental rulebook. I imagine quite a lot of players don't keep up to snuff on GW's updates, and it honestly doesn't surprise me to hear that a FLGS manager missed it.
If you're polite, I'm sure most people will appreciate the update and correct their play accordingly. Having the resource with you just makes the process a bit smoother.

It's a pretty durable unit and with devourers on those Carnifex can put out a lot of firepower, but it is pretty costly. Very fun to use though.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!" |

Just endurance on a singel fex, make it hard to kill. endurance + Reg, you will be checking both top and bottom of the turn for wound recovery. That is an ideal setup for screamer killers really. Gain wounds back going in to the start of each player turn effectively can be very frustrating for the opponent.
