So after the new rules for the flying monsterous, is the harpy even usable or is it actually good.

They are great, just a little fragile. I love stranglethorn cannons though, so there's some bias.

I like both options:

For 10pts more you get a Twin-linked Heavy Venom Cannon for anti vehicle(170 total). A hive tyrant can't even get a twin-linked Hvy Vnm Can. They can hide behind terrain and only move when you want. I have also used them with genestealers. Have them attack 1st(since they count as having grenades and cut init in half so the genes aren't I-1 for terrain.

Like he said don't keep them in the open they will die. Used carefully they are very good.

It was terrible in 5th, a complete waste of points.

It is still fragile, largely because the skyfire weapons tend to be powerful and it has a poor save and T is middling.

However if used right it can be destructive. It is not bad points wise and can be a real nuisance.

I don't think the ranged weapons are its main strength imho. Its vector strike is vicious and it is a major bullet magnet.

I built one from a trygon with the wings off a flyrant in the top sockets and two heavy venom cannons in the other two sockets. I remodelled the head a bit. It is a gorgeous model and it is really huge!
