Hey all,

I have a TON of PotSM ships... probably around 200. I love the little models and my group would really like to start using them again, but The game system that wizkids put out just doesn't do it for us anymore. I was wondering if anybody had come across any rules that these models worked for? We have thought about adapting 40k ish rules for it, as we like the idea of blowing each other up and capturing objectives, but I can't stand the idea of winning by collecting gold.

Thanks all!

Have you looked at an old game by GW called Man O' War? You might be able to adapt that system to use those ships lying around. Yeah, never been a fan of the WizKids "Collect X to win while getting blasted by opponents" deal. I mean I get it, it's something other than straight combat, but all their scenarios revolved around map hopping and treasure collecting. Rocketmen (RIP) suffered the same problem....

Might be easy to adapt it to Uncharted Seas.

There's a ton of naval wargames out there, I couldn't recommend one in particular as I've only played "Naval Thunder" and that's 20th century based.

However, the folks here:

Might have what you're after. It's a rather old-school format, but those are specifically aimed at naval gaming in a swashbuckling or napoleonic setting.

Lots of "age of sail" recommendations. Those, along with TMP, should have you set.

Trafalgar is awesome.

Micro armor has a solid set of rules as well.

Wooden Ships and Iron Men is a cult classic and the first historical miniatures game I played.
