OK, first off, I am not sure if this is the right forum, but I am not sure where else to ask.
I am looking to start an SOB army. But, given the high cost of this army, I want to make sure I only buy models I plan on using. So, there will be a bit of proxy / playtesting prior to use.
With that being said, I do have a few questions on the models used:
1. Exorcist tanks. I am not a huge fan of the piano tank from GW. While it is iconic of the SoB, I just don't know if I can get behind a driving organ. Now, I have seen an exorcist missile launcher on forge world that looks like a slightly modified whirlwhind. Is this the same vehicle or is there an IA for their version I am not aware of?
2. Rhinos - I have noticed on FW (and on GW's site too I think) that the SoB rhinos have additional plated on the back half of the rhinos, giving it a more "flat" look. I have seen some of these metal pieces for sale on ebay. I was just wondering how you come about these. Are these FW items? Do they come with the exorcist and immolator vehicles from GW?
3. Alternative St. Celestine model. I am not really that taken by the model for St. Celestine. Given she is going to be a centerpiece of any SoB army, can anyone recommend a different model to use / start out with to convert?
Thanks in advance.

1. If you are not a fan of the current exorcist model, you can pick up the FW conversion kits, which is the same tank, just a different look,or theres several scratch built/conversions you can find via google.
2,not sure bout that one.
3, I used a seraphim superior model to convert my own living saint as I too do not like the celestine model,

1) It's the same vehicle (same rules etc.), I believe the FW one came before the GW one but I'm not sure.
2) The metal side-farings are from the GW Exorcist kit and occasionally turn up on ebuy separately, (anything metal = GW, FW only does resin and 'etched brass'). There's also the plastic upgrade sprue to turn a normal Rhino into a SoB one.
3) No idea sorry.

Exorcists existed before the piano tank and the FW tiny missile launchers are the result of that. A lot of folks used Whirlwind missiles on an SOB rhino as well. Either the FW or Piano are both valid.

SOB Rhinos (the official GW ones) are the SOB Immolator kit (which has a modified rhino top plate) with a special turret for the storm bolter. You could also just use a normal rhino.
3. Alternative St. Celestine model. I am not really that taken by the model for St. Celestine. Given she is going to be a centerpiece of any SoB army, can anyone recommend a different model to use / start out with to convert?
A lot of folks use celestine with wings, or Warmachine models or whatever. As long as it is the same basic size, you should be cool.

2) The GW Immolator kit comes with those raised pieces, and as you can fit the Stormbolter ring w. Gunner in the same place as the Immolator turret these kits double as SoB Rhinos.
3) Mine became great by leaving out the cloak/JP part and adding Pegasus wings from Fantasy. Well, that and an old mate painting it. Steady hands.

And best of all, for some reason the Immolator does not cost a penny more than the Rhino, so any SoB player should always pick up the Immo kit, even if he just wants to field Rhinos.
I mean ... hey, it's free bitz!
Regarding the Exorcist, perhaps give it some time. It took me a year or so, but I eventually got around to actually appreciate the weird looking organ launcher. The FW version, which I considered as an alternative at first, just seems a bit ... "plump", its missile launchers looking as if somebody taped a pair of toilet paper rolls (sans paper) onto the chassis. Totally messes up the otherwise elegant design of the tank, or the Sisters in general.
On a sidenote: To get used to the organ, perhaps it helps to picture the Exorcist launching its missiles in synch with the gunner hitting the keys depending on whatever hymn she's playing. This is the explanation for why you roll 1d6 for the missiles - as the gunner basically "plays a melody", with different notes triggering different launch tubes or combinations of them. Grimdark!
Lastly, regarding alternate models for Saint Celestine - have you checked Reaper Miniatures? They've got a huge range of beautifully crafted figures, including some very "saintly" looking ones. By far not the only option, but it'd probably be my first stop if I were in your position.
Good luck, hope you'll enjoy playing Sisters.

Other folks have offered some very good advice (I'd especially listen to Lynata's, since she's been playing Sisters for long enough to empathize with Cubs fans...) but I have a question, if you don't mind my asking.
It seems like the two (to my mind) most iconic figures for the army are both figures you don't like. Can I ask what's drawing you to the Sisters army in the first place? Having seen the Exorcist on the battlefield a few times, I can attest that it's a beautiful model. (As is Celestine!) Rather than try to propose alternative models to you, I was wondering if there is a possibility of you altering existing models to fit a vision of yours a little better? Just curious. If you told us what you like the Sisters for, and what you want them to look like on the table, we might be able to offer some suggestions for conversions that would make you happy while still keeping some of the traditional Sisters images.
Not trying to tell you how to do things, just trying to offer some help.

Indeed, pretre is a good source of info - I especially enjoy reading his advice on tactics, as lately I haven't had time for any games myself, so my experience with Sisters in the current edition is still limited to theory.
Although I'm still sceptical regarding how good the latest Minidex really is - but pretre's optimism is healthy and helpful in its own way as it helps to combat those dreadful "doom and gloom" feelings.

Ill second building your own excorcist. Heck, you can even use a whirlwind provided you put enough Fleur-de-lis on it.
Counts-as works so long as its WYSIWYG and there is no confusion.
I don't blame you either. The organ-rhino is as dippy as the DJ-speeder

Back when there wasn't an exorcist, I had three:
- Rhino with Metal Razorback bottom, Typhoon missile launchers, book and torch.
- 2 x Rhinos with Predator turret with single WW missile launcher out the top
I don't blame you either. The organ-rhino is as dippy as the DJ-speeder
That is certainly an opinion.

That's an excellent idea!
While the scale is not perfect, and you would need to use a terminator base, the "Harbinger" form the lord machine would make a breathtaking Celistine.

3. Personally I use a modified Celestine with a Seraphim jump pack, bolt pistol and the impaler off a Dark Eldar - I use her as Ephrael Stern.

1. I don't like the organ gun either (that's a dwarf thing surely?) - I much prefer the Forge World exorcist, although I'll admit I do run it on a Deimos Rhino chassis these days to match my MkII conversion (Original RT-era Rhino + half the ordnance off a Harrier Jumpjet). The Deimos is a lot bulkier, so maybe it'll help offset the 'loss of sleekness' Lynata mentioned.
Besides, I started Sisters when the Immolator was our iconic vehicle, and it's going to stay that way in my mind, no matter how much GW tries to turn it into a standard razorback and ignores its unique design features (like the fact it still has a hatch on the back to act as a firing point
2. My personal preference is for Repressors over Rhinos in any case, but they do look rather sexy with the Forge World spaced armour.

Ok, I sympathize with you on the exorcist entirely. I was planning on keeping this conversion secret and in my back pocket. Given that it's at least 8 months away on my project log and you and I will likely never cross paths- I'll toss you my concept for the conversion.
I wanted to kit bash this:

with this:

Think of a rhino body with this glorious staircase coming out of it. Then enough plasticard organ pipes on the back half to match the original model. A sister at the parapet would complete the deal. I'm really excited, it's just so freaking far away from me. Take it if you want.

If you don't like the organ gun, Sisters of Battle Immolaor with Whirlwind top work perfectly fine too.
