Greetings once again Dakka Monkeys and welcome to another exciting installment of the Fists of Redemption battle reports!

As some of you are aware, the Colonial GT is next weekend. Hopefully, yours truly will be there (unless I have to work. Which will suck, because I already paid). I've never attended the Colonial, but from the list of registrants competition will be extremely stiff. MVB and Yermom are only a few of the great players that are going to be there, stomping newb ass. Oh, and I'll be there too (hopefully) (not that I'm great, but I'll be there) (now I'm just wandering around on a wild tangent and need to stop) (parentheses are pure win ).

I've changed my list up slightly from the tournamant a few weeks ago (awesome batreps and list here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/506204.page) (got to use parentheses again).

As of right now, and always subject to change in the six days before the tournament, here's my current list:

Libby-gate and nullzone, terminator armor
5 x TH/SS termies
2 x riflemen dreads
3 x 10 tac squads-3 x lascannons and rhinos, 2 x melta, plasma
1 x 5 tac squad
2 x multi melta bikes
3 x bolter bikes
2 x vindicators
TFC with cool-looking techmarine
ADL w/quad-gun

So that's the new list. What's changed: Lysander is gone. Lysander is great and the ultimate vanilla badass, but with further testing, reflection, and beer drinking, I came to the conclusion that he was overkill. He's a great buy for the price, but the more I looked at my list the more I didn't want to spend 200 pts on one guy, no matter how good he was. Also by not having Lysander I get combat tactics again, so I dropped him.

Now that my libby would be my warlord and warlord is a big part of every Colonial mission, I gave him terminator armor to make him a little more durable. Yes he only has two wounds, but he's still better protected.

I added the melta bikes as well. Over five games I'm certain to run into some mech and they'll help with that. They can also contest and score linebreaker for me as well.

I also added the 5 man tac squad. Why? Because I have OCD and certain things keep me awake at night, even if I don't know what they are. I finally realized the fact that at the last tournament I had to keep a lascannon combat squad on the quad-gun was driving me nuts. 98% of the time, what I wanted to shoot the quad-gun at was not what I wanted to shoot the lascannon at, and vice versa. A 5 man squad allows me to have another scoring backfield squad that is dedicated to only one thing; quad-gunning. This frees up my lascannons to shoot at vehicles, monstrous creatures, or whatever. Also by having my sergeant man the quad-gun, he can make precision shots which is cool. Obviously I now have seven scoring units as well and every mission at Colonial except one is objectives.

So there's the list. Nothing really flashy, but I like it (right now) (parentheses again). Between the vindies, the bolter bikes, the TFC, and 12 TL autocannon shots I'm not sweating hordes. With three lascannons, two vindies, the melta bikes, and 12 TL autocannon shots, I should be OK against vehicles. The termies give a decent counterattack or pressure unit with the libby using gate and nullzone as needed. The only thing I'm a little concerned about are fliers and then only the AV 12 fliers. Against a good player the quad-gun will go quickly. I should be alright against SRs and dettas because of the amount of bodies that I have. Scythes don't concern me too much as they're only AV 11. The problem I'm going to run into if the other guy has a strong ground presence with moderate air support; that's my worry. I could have taken a flier or two becuase of GW's new marketing strategy, but taking a flier or two in my opinion is fail. Go big or go home, because if the other guy has fliers, mine won't last very long.

That's it for now Fist fans (all four of you) (parentheses again, damn I'm good ). Take a minute to cast your votes and provide comments as I'm all about being criticized. If you're at Colonial and I'm not at work, stop by and say hello. I'll be the mean looking guy with the shaved head and the blue and silver awesomesauce army.

Until I post the batreps, stay cool Fist fans. And remember, your minds belong to me.

Nice list up to the small Tac squad, seems pointless to me. Some more Termies would help.

Looking forward to your batreps

Losing Lysander an gaining Combat Tactics is a good trade off IMO, I like it.

You mentioned all kinds of fliers but omitted your worst enemy, the Helldrake with AV12 and it's s6 AP3 torrent flamer. C:SM troops are very vulnerable to it and about the only thing you can do to prevent it eating a squad per turn is moving them to different levels of a ruin.
If needed you have 7 squads, so I guess that is your answer to them :/

For the 90 pts that the 5 man tac squad cost me, I could only bring in two more termies. I'd rather have the extra scoring bodies manning the gun.

The drake is only an issue if/when my rhinos get popped. Except for vector strike-which is meh at best-drakes suck against vehicles. Luckily for me, I brought plenty of transports. The one thing that does worry me about drakes is havoc or oblit backup; a smart player will pop all my transports first and then let the drakes eat them. But you're right, helldrakes could very well be my kryptonite. We'll have to see.

Hopefully you get to attend. After reading the last battle report, I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

Did you just forget to list the Aegis and Gun? You talk about it in the OP, but it doesn't show up in your army list.

Yes I did, nice catch. I'll get that added.
