Lately I've been having problems with agrax earthshade. It leaves light residues in the deepest parts. So where it is supposed to be dark brown it instead gets light grey. At first I thought I simply had cleaned my brushes bad but now I did a test where I took a completely fresh brush and stroke alot of agrax earthsade on a piece of paper. Once it had dried there were several grey areas. I'm going to buy a new agrax earthshade but does anyone have any diea what has caused this?

It sounds like a separation of the constituent parts of the paint, I'd suggest giving it a really good shake before use, and shake again every now and then as you use it, if that doesn't work, then you've probably got a dud paint.
Storing them in direct sunlight or a too warm area can mess them up too. I love Agrax Earthshade though, I'd be lost if that happened to me.

I always give the washes a good shake before use. I think I'll jsut buy a new agrax so I dont risk ruining a model. Thanks for the help!

Same thing happened to me. It seems to happen when I try to thin the wash. (for washing white)

Interesting! When it turned out really grey I had thinned it with water, however when I did it on the paper I didn't really thin it and it still turned out grey at some spots.

I've been having these problems with the GW washes even when they were first released. Either I'm doing something terribly wrong, or I just keep getting duds...
