I just bought a lot of used (but thankfully not even primed) plastic CSM and fine cast Mutilators. Only problem was the seller used a bit too much glue in spots and not to mention painting them after assembly can be touchy (as in painting in tight spots is going to be touching everything but the spot! ;( ) I know nail polish remover will weaken super glue but it will melt plastic. Does anyone know if acetone will melt finecast? I would experiment with some but these are my first finecast models ever.

As for the plastic - I have one sacrificial CSM in the freezer as I hear glue will become brittle and should pop off......

Anyone have suggestions for assisting with disassembly of preglued finecast or plastic models?

Finecast is.. not a good medium, I imagine if nail polish remover damages plastic it will probably turn finecast into a pile of goo.

Acetone will melt everything that's not metal. Try sticking them in the freezer with those CSM, or try scraping the glue out.
