Stubborn Eternal Guard

Dundee, Scotland

Well it is almost time for Throne of Skulls and my 2000 point all elf Wood elf army is nearing completion, I only have two characters and 14 eternal guard left to paint, the eternal guard should be done tonight. The majority of my army still needs based but that is a rather last minute job and wanted to show the army thus far, I do have my spellweaver completed but she is currently at the local GW after being submitted for a recent painting comp (didn't win but it a least gave me a deadline for her lol).

The army is entirely plastic, the waywatchers/wardancers were made from various bits of DE wyches, Glade Guard and Glade Riders, the Eternal Guard are made from glade guard bodies, high elf spear arms and white lion cloaks and the characters have been kit-bashed. Please be gentle on the painting critique, this is the first army I have painted in approx 8 years but I feel I am getting better

My painting time is sporadic but I hope to keep this thread updated until next weekend when I travel down to Nottingham.

Nice kit bashing, although the DE elements come across strongly in the first photo.

Painting looks fine to me btw. I like brown and cream colour schemes

Thank you, I should be able to get better pics of the wardancers up later tonight, maybe a couple of them individually instead of the unit as a whole.

Many thanks for the compliment on the painting as well, was nervous posting up pics lol!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
A selection of the wardancers out with the unit and a shot of their back, my attempt at green-stuff to hide the DE power cables,

A group shot of my eternal guard so far, these guys are very rough as they will be the back ranks of the unit, the command and first rank will get some more attention, a shot of their back as well to show the cloaks.

half way through the command and remaining Eternal Guard but will have to give it a rest for tonight as I have some chores left y the Mrs!

Very impressed with the Eternal Guard. They look exactly like they're supposed to (always hated the metal models).

I am pleased with how the eternal Guard are looking, especially with the quick paint job they are getting, a little disappointed that I couldn't smooth the dip in the middle of the shields out more, could have done with a couple more layers of liquid green stuff but was running out of time so bit the bullet and started painting, will probably return to fix that after ToS.

Got a late night painting session tonight to finish off the eternal guard then next week it will be final two characters and basing next week.

Again thank you for the feedback, should have more pics up start of next week but got a busy weekend ahead

Nice army, the the use of DE may sorta draw them away from the loth-lorien look, but damn do they look mean this way.
For the shield I think you should make it look more ... detailed? Something like leaves, or flayed skin, or an emblem cuz to me they look a bit dull.
Oh and zoom ups please, I'd like to see them up close.
