Guys I don't know if anyone else has played with this list from 'bridge by bridge' or not, but I thought I'd share my views.

Very nice, I like your Lists alot.

I'm pondering on doing a similar list by picking up three Jagdpanthers, not sure about the mortars but I can swap them out for something else.

I think having played a couple of games bigger artillery has a real synergy with the list, but smoke is needed to stop evil fireflies and the like

Yeah, I could see why you had the Mortar tubes to lay smoke.

I haven't got BBB yet so I might just unlock it on EASYARMY and have a play with the list and see what I can come up with.

3 Jagdpanthers
2 whirbelwind
3 section grenadier with a Faust (CV)
3 section grenadier with a Faust (CV)
2 section mortars (CV)

If I took out one of the 3 Section grenadier with a Faust (CV) - Could I get a werfer-Battery 15cm or 21cm depending on which will give me more tubes probably tending towards 15cm for the extra numbers.

If so I would keep the Mortars for Smoke, and the Neb's can bombard or smoke depending on the situation. Would still give 6 platoons too.

It's annoying that HQ Stug's are always One vehicle.

You can take 2 HQ stugs or 2 HQ Jagdpanthers in this list - so thats always an option.

Werfer's are not an option for the list, it's either 2 or 4 gun batteries (10cm and 15cm) iirc a 4 gun CV battery is 210 points, but the 3 section grenadiers is only 165, though you may be able to mix CT and CV options I think

Played with Schwere Panzerjäger list in tournament a little under a month ago (yet to do my promised blog entry about it). It was a fun list but seriously needs some hardcore luck with dice.

Errors that I found in my list:
1. get rid of 88's, those are just useless - take wirbelwinds instead --- you have them GOOD!
2. Heavy Artillery is a waste of points - mortars suffice and do all the same ... way WAY better with a lower price --- you have it GOOD!
3. get 2nd Inf platoon, pref CV, with fausts --- you have it GOOD!

So I'd say go with the first list of yours but change the 4th Stug for 2iC in Stug... lost a game in tournament cause I lost my CiC and I had no 2iC to take a company morale check.

Nicely saved battle from a jaws of defeat And yes, as you noted in the after battle notes, infantry was the key element.

But I agree with you that this list is more suited into open terrain against a fully armored force.

Thought I'd add my thoughts on the list on this after playing a fair few games, not an exhaustive review, but a considered one I hope.

I was thinking about running it as a 10 StuG list.

It just feels like this is the StuG list that the real StuG lists try to be. Being able to take 4 per platoon instead of 3 makes a big difference I think, so it outperforms pretty much every StuG list there. Support options are great as well I think.

My plan was to run:

2 StuG HQ
4 StuG
4 StuG
4 Wirbelwinds (I do face air in my area)
2 CV Grenadier platoons, all with PFs, one with Shrecks
