The godzillas.... HQs DakkaRant (121 pts) -Toxic Sacs, 2 TL Devourers, Enhanced Senses SpitterRant (130 pts) -VC, TL Deathspitter, Enhanced Senses Elites DakkaFex (113 pts) -2 TL Devourers, Enhanced Senses DakkaFex (113 pts) -2 TL Devourers, Enhanced Senses TalonFex (114 pts) -2 Scything Talons, Adrenal Glands (WS), Toxic Miasma, Flesh hooks Heavies GunFex (163 pts) -VC, BS, Enhanced Senses, Reinforced Chitin GunFex (163 pts) -VC, BS, Enhanced Senses, Reinforced Chitin BlastFex (143 pts) -BS, TL Deathspitter, Enhanced Senses, Reinforced Chitin That's 1060 points in those 8 models... my question is this a solid selection? the remainder of the points are to go into the other standard fare. I may include a few winged Warriors to: a.) offer more synapse, and b.) to be able to zip around and free up any of the shooty TMCs that get tied up in Hth. might look like: Flying Warriors (41 pts each) -Winged, Adrenal Glands (I), Scything Talons, Rending Claws I would think a unit of 3 might work just right... The remainder would go into gaunts and such...

You might as well give your second Tyrant a Barbed Strangler , since that Deathspitter will only really hit one guy and a partial a shot, if that one shot hits. No use skimping points on MC's if they can't kill a dern thing. In the same sense, your third elitefex should really be another dakkafex if your gonna have another one, unless you are dead set on having him to have a Hand to Hand fex. If you want to have a two devourer Tyrant, might as well make him flying as well. He won't be sticking up under concentrated fire very well, so the extra mobility will not only save him from being stuck in the open with 5 las/plas squads looking mean at him, but get your devourers closer and quicker. I have read that many people use such a configuration to good effect.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

What are you talking about? They're Space Marines, which are heroic. They need to be able to do all the heroic stuff. They fight aliens and don't afraid of anything. -Orkeosarus

I'd drop one of the heavy fexes for 3 zoanthropes. Some anti-marine firepower and the -1 leadership thingy are both pretty cool from what I've seen.
There is no excuse for not taking a winged tyrant. Just too good. I'm not sure what the new build is but I think Implant Attack and some scything talons and stuff, and warp field is probably in there. Maybe that thing that lets you reroll hits in the first round.
I am so far a fan of the genestealers with hooks and carapace as your troops, since gaunts can mostly be ignored unless they number in the 40-50s.
Take everything I say with a grain of salt as it's just what I've heard/seen, and played against. No one here runs full zilla yet, but I see a lot of 3-4 fexes, a tyrant, some zoeys and miscellaneous other crap. The winged tyrant is a must however, and is an absolute terror.

I don't see much point in your CC fex or the blast fex, why replace 2 S10 shots with a small blast S7? CC fex is not going to do much, anything that it can safely attack will be taken out by the CC of shooty fexs anyway.
Winged warriors are not very competetive when compared with ravaners.
I would not give the tyrant wings but a guard or 2 would be nice on them both as they are more powerful than the shootyfexs at taking out infantry you want to keep them alive.
Ds on the tyrant is ok if he is only going for antitank but you have so much already that devs might suit it better.
Winged tyrant is nice, I use one myself but if you are going to run alot of ravaners or stealers then you don't need it.

If you go for the zoey's, I reccomend running all your elites fexes with barbed strangler and scything talons. Nothing wrong with forcing a few pinning tests, plus 36" range is really good if you get stuck in escalation. (+18" range = -3 turns walking) Don't forget a strangler on a fex will rip through tanks just as well as a krak missile. One last thing to note is that Zoeys only get two slots for additional psychic powers - it may be worth deploying near yoru tyrants to get the benefit of synapse to counterract their T4.
Winged Warriors are a tricky unit, I'm told. I've a unit of three myself - mostly because I couldn't stand having to convert them as leaping - but they have yet to go through the mill. Just keep in mind, they're pretty darn fragile. The classic accompaniment to Godzilla is 'stealers - if they are ignored they will procede to rip large chunks out of anything they assault, if they are targetted they save your big boys some grief.

I find something wrong with bs2 myself.
Devilfexs are normally firing on turn 2, if they are not firing on turn 2 it is probably good for you though as that means when they do fire on turn 3 and the enemy runs they are off the table already.
