Been Around the Block

Hi everyone,
I am hoping somebody can help me. My painting area is getting very untidy, so i want to get some form of racking to hold all of my paints and tools.
Looking around online, ive found this:
But it is $175, and is on the other side of the world.
What other options are there for these?
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks
Claire

Miniaturicum. de has THESE. Once glued they are very sturdy. Downside is they take up space on your desk.
(I know there is at least one other company that produces similar racks, just forgot their name... )
Warlord Games carry some smaller racks.
And Hobbyzone.pl have some excellent (and cheap) paint racks, including one to hang on the wall (saves space on the desk!). Shipping costs are pretty steep however (otherwise I would have ordered several of those, already).

Hi Treslibras,
Thankyou for that. The hobbyzone ones do look useful.
I want to hold the entire GW range on the racks (rather than the silly box the ultimate paint range comes in) but have a 6ft x 3ft painting area, so its not too much of an issue.

I love the various paint racks but just haven't been able to justify the cash to spend on any. I did, however, go to Target and pick up a few adjustable kitchen shelf/risers, and they're pretty good as an inexpensive alternative. I keep hoping for one if the spiffy ones as a present at some point, especially the ones that hold the dropped upside down.

I can wholeheartedly recommend http://www.progeng.co.uk.
I've ordered their large rack, it's similar product design to the Australian ones you like but is based in England to the postage costs are regular!
Really happy with my racks and they've tidied up my painting area no end.

I just recently got myself a couple paint racks from TheIronBow on Etsy. Really great pricing for them, and located in the US so the shipping isn't ridiculous. I love those racks you posted a pic of, but the shipping kills me.
Here's the paint rack I got.
And the paint racks

Grab one of these in the correct diameter(s) for your pots and a standard drillbit for your brushes/tools and any hunk of timber and have at it? They're only a couple of quid from screwfix
That's what i've been meaning to do for a while.

Or you could take the even easier route. Get an 8' 2x4 and an 8' piece of 1x5, screw them together after you have cut them into 3 peices to make a U shape. Worked supreme for me. You can make them to fit in any space and it will help to prevent those little pieces that like to walk off the desk while you are working.

Now, we like big books. (And we cannot lie. You other readers can’t deny, a book flops open with an itty-bitty font, and a map that’s in your face, you get—sorry! Sorry!) |
